.net price increase Feb 1

Have already received emails from various registrars who are increasing their prices in connection with the upcoming .net price increase by Verisign on Feb 1.

So if you have alot of .net's, consider renewing/transferring them before the end of the month.

Any specific reason the .net's are increasing in price? Or is this just something the big head honchos decide?

Verisign decided to make this increase six months ago. They have to wait six months for notification. Increase amount is 60 cents to the base price.
