My domain name has got blacklisted...

Ahh, I have just looked up one of my domain names on whois.sc and it says that it is black listed. I only reged the domain name a few days ago and am just in the prosess of getting it working with my hosting. I have not even sent a e-mail from it, though it still says it is black listed. The domain name is xvsxp.net . I do think it may be blacklisted because of the server that i am on (/the IP address linked to the account) but i don't know. I really don't want it blacklisted, and i can't hink of any thing that i have done to get it blacklisted. Someone help me

Ahh, I have just looked into more info on it:

The DSBL lists contain the IP addresses of servers which have relayed special test messages to [email protected]; this can happen if the server is an open relay, an open proxy or has another vulnerability that allows anybody to deliver email to anywhere, through that server. Note that DSBL itself doesn't do any tests; it simply listens for incoming test messages and lists the server that delivers the message to DSBL's mail server.

that means there is a likely change it is my host (sorry Veolus, I will still stay with mango webs if it is the host, but i really don't want the domain name blasklisted )

you are correct =- it is the ip you are on, and not the domain name

its happened to me as well :o

ok, thanks for your replys everyone. I have found a place that the owner of the server can report the ip address and get it removed from the listing
