Hello,

It seems my domain disappeared from my RegisterFly account. I am, or WAS, trying to sell it but without knowledge that it was NOT in my account anymore.

I KNOW it was there. I've seen it and managed it and set its nameservers to SEDO... now there's a little mess at ChowCow since my rep has a potential negative going to it if I can't prove I used to own it, or still DO.

Domain: BusinessAttorney.co.uk

EDIT: Here's my order confirmation:

24511137 businessattorney.co.uk 2 2005-11-10 Command Updated Successfully SUCCESS $13.98

There's no record of it being pushed or transferred from my account, also, no invalid logins...

CompuXP, the same thing happened to me not too long ago with Regesterfly!!! I still have no real answer from them and it has been annoying as he__! Read my thread, http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=145722 maybe it will help. I am very sorry this has happened to you too.

Same here

This has happened to me before, more than once. Last time it was 6 or 7 seven domains at one time!!

Log in, then go to "Reports". Now find "Domain Purchase Order History". The first thing you have to do is be able to prove when you bought the domain. This report will show you the purchase date, and expiration date. This way you know for sure, you didn't just forget, and let it expire.

Once you verify that it still should be in your account (example, it shows that it expires on 2/12/2006) issue a Support ticket, and explain what happened, and ask to have your domain put back into your account.

Also, contact Regfly here, he will help you get it back.

I am still not sure how www.Registerfly.com loses domains, but they do. It is a good idea to either print a list of your domains, or look at the "Domain Purchase Order History" list, and compare it to those that are in your account.

Also, make sure you didn't list it as "For Sale" on www.Registerfly.com, and it wasn't sold, and funds put into your account. Domains that are near their expiration date will sell for next to nothing. I just had 4 sell for $2.74 each!!

Hope this helps.

SKG: Oh yeah I read that thread, bummer it happened to ya. Oddly enough, I had also put this name for sale on Sedo. Perhaps that's the key here?

Gene: Yes, I got a confirmation email.

CompuXP, when you put it on Sedo they do verify that you own the domain I believe. What happened to me, which is probably what happened in your case, as you will soon find out, is at first RF said I never had it. Well I proved that wrong pretty quick. Then they told me it is not my domain. I said I know that, because I noticed by chance someone else regged it a month after I bought it. They had no answer. Somehow my name was dropped. So far the explanation is that they outsource, in my case .in to Enom and that Enom dropped it and let someone reg it. RF never even knew this happened until I questioned what happened to my domain. If fact it took 10 tickets before it got escalated to a tier 2 tech support. Right now it has been a week and a half and still now answer as they have told me they are trying to find out from ENOM what happened. If I do not get an answer soon the only thing you or I can do is email ICANN etc and BBB.

CompuXP, there is a really good article in the editorial section of DNjournal which at the end of it they give some emails: Taken from Dnjournal.com "You can file a complaint online with InterNic on any issues involving registrars here: http://reports.internic.net/cgi/registrars/problem-report.cgi

Also, send a copy of the complaint in an email to [email protected]. ICANN will forward your complaint to the registrar for review and further handling though they do not guarantee a reply. One can at least hope that the ICANN inquiry will get the registrar's attention.

Ah, thanks everyone! ^_^ I did verify my ownership with Sedo.

I'll take a look at that article now.

Truly scary... Makes me want to sue.
Not sure you will recover your name but at least demand proper compensation and if I were you I would push with ICANN (provided they really care about the interests of domainers...).
Please keep up posted. Good luck.

Te same thing happend to me!

Hello

Market Place order for domain giftworld.net was failed. so the domain is not in your account.

Thank You.

I react and I wait for response!
Hallo Richard Britting!
Why has it failed???
Since August it was in my account and now it has diappearred? I had a similar problem a few weeks before and you fixed it! Since I redirected the domain to sedo I have many problems with register fly.Ths Domain was bought legally from your domain market. You confirmed the transfer, you make the changes. Why do you change the registar witout any notification? This is not legal and if you do not react properly, I will take the next legal steps.
Sorry for my directness, but I cannot accept canges in anyting witout my permission. I already lost my trust in your company. It is very suspicious that the name "giftworld" disappeared right around Christmas, when it would be most in demand. Please look this over again and I hope the problem can be resolved, otherwise I will be forced to take other action.
Regards,
Doru Tarita

Hey! ^_^

Budget: Thanks for your PM, I just replied.
Teddy: Thanks for the info but unfortunately the error wasn't in the purchase of the domain, it was fine but then just failed.

As for contacting ICANN, how would I go about doing this? Should I approach regfly or ICANN?

I have very limited funds right now...
