Anyone knows how much it costs to transfer a domain from Moniker to Godaddy?
No offense, grevan, but how is it you've been a member here since 2006, with 155 posts, yet don't know about a simple domain transfer?
Hey guys give the guy a break .. As a registrar, I know that the transfer process is not understood well by most people. We get a lot of questions every day, asking whether they have to pay to transfer from their registrar or what happens to the time they have left on their existing registration. Most people think they can only transfer when their current registration is about to expire etc. I know that you guys are experts here, but you all started out somewhere ..Even if he's been on the board for 6 years, if he's never transferred, than how would he know? With all the backlash, I'm sure no one would dare ask a question like that on this board.

Yes. Melbourne IT.I mean is there a registrar that actually doesn't tack on an extra year when you transfer to them?
Yes. Melbourne IT.
I don't even think you would want to transfer to Melbourne IT even if they give a one year extension free. Transfer cost is like $37 bucks a pop.Good to know, note to self - never transfer to Melbourne IT, lol.
Yes, that's the way I look at things - no matter how obvious something is to someone, it's doesn't necessarily mean that it is to everyone.
I have some non-techie friends who have had their domains at the same place since they registered them many years ago and I know they probably wouldn't know this either,
I didn't ask to demean the OP; I just noticed he had 12 positive trade ratings in the last year, including several "fast pushes," and it made me curious how he could easily push yet not know about transfers.
