Misspelled domains...worth it?

I'll try to be clear : I was searching with the Google Keywords Tool for ideas on a domain name. I found that one keyword search had 13 600 000 searches for it worldwide and 135 000 local, with little competition. Only thing is, it was a misspelled keyword.

Is it worth it to register the domain (.com which is available)? If so many people are asking for it, maybe I should park it or even develop it.

Anyone with experience can chime in?

Thanks

Possibly, if you are sure the search volume is correct.
You can still taste the domain, it might get a bit of traffic.

In my experience/opinion mispelled domains aren't worth it, in general. But then again with those kind of search volumes it's probably worth a punt for $8.

Have you unclicked the broad search results and changed them to exact, makes a huge difference.

I agree with all of the above. 13M is huge search volume even if default broad. For example, the commonly misspelled word "calenders" only yields 110K broad / 14.8K exact. Typo "pron" yields 2.7M broad / 201K exact. The typo field has been mined steadily for the past 10+ years, so an unregged 13M dot com nugget is hard to believe unless the term is a recognizable TM, and even those don't usually sit available: "facebool" 2.5B broad / 450K exact, all gTLD's taken; "acebook login" 185M broad / 12.1K exact, dot com taken.

I think many websites deliberately use "pron" to make them "workplace-friendly". And people deliberately search for that typo to get their daily goods while the boss is not looking. lol.
