Ok so everyone is always talking about how LLLL.com values are constantly increasing but does anyone think the value of them could ever decrease? Please list some reasons why you think LLLL.com's will continue to increase in value or why LLLL.com will eventually decrease in value.

I agree with your analysis. I am not the biggest fan of Obama, but he represents change and McCain represents more of the same.

I don't dislike McCain, but he has no shot at winning in a year of change with under 20% saying the country is on the "right track", a president with an approval rating in the 25% range, and a very unpopular war.

This tells the story on how passionate Obama supporters are and how McCain supporters are not all that motivated.

Spent the last 1 hour reading this thread. Very interesting points that were being brought up. Personally I think if Obama wins the presidential elections on the 4th of Nov with no more war. Prices would certainly go up even if market were to crash leading from now to Nov 2nd. However if McCain wins and war continues for another 4 years, things may spiral down as middle-class US citizens would worry about paying their bills than expanding their businesses.

different people like different domains. I have been watching BBC's planet earth, it is interesting all different animals have their own ways of obtaining food.

I think whether LLL or LLLL, they all have their own advantages and disadvantage, to the end it may not matter much. I remember picking up some triple premium LLLL at the beginning, did not register some bad looking LLLL. But they a few months later those ugly LLLL looked OK, then I regged them again. This shows as the supply changes our views will change. I think both LLL or LLLL will do well, I am focusing on LLLL simply because I think more people can pay them. But I think LLLL already benefiting from the rise of LLLL and LLL will continue be benefiting from any increase value in LLLL. So it does not matter much.

Low end LLL.coms are either a bubble waiting to happen or the upper end is severely undervalued -- I'm more likely to side with the former than the latter. As Snoop explained, it's not the LLL.com market which is rapidly appreciating in value -- merely the low end segment. From what I've seen this year, it actually appears premium LLL.coms are more affordable today than they were a few months back. I do not see this trend holding with LLLL.coms and I truly believe one is living in a fairy tale if they believe the worst LLLL.coms will one day fetch 1/4 of what quad premiums go for, like we see in the LLL.com market.
I wonder if the smaller gap between the worst and best (non-word) LLLs is an anomaly or a natural result of market forces. I suspect the later. As each LLL finds an end user the pool of remaining domains diminishes. This means that - regardless of budget - the next buyer has a greater chance of not being able to buy his first choice. Some will wander off, but others will ask "what is available" and make do with that. So a value identity (wonder if that is a real term) is created for all LLL.coms. Your own use of BQB is an example - those three letters serve your purpose, but I suspect that others would as well.

At the same time investors prowl for easy to recognize bargains - "any LLL.com under $,$$$" is something anyone can understand. The metrics of higher than minimum domain valuation are difficult - I am awash concerning CVCV values myself and I have been in this for years. So for many people it seems less risky to buy near the minimum.

Multiply the current demand (investor and end user) for LLLL.coms by five. I think that is what we will see in a few years as the PC internet grows, Mobile internet comes online, and "better" domains are permanently removed from the market by end users. In that environment I would expect the cachet of having a LLLL.com would by itself be a major selling point, and that people would not be so willing to pay 12 times as much for an all-premium, or much more than that for a premium CVCV.

Renewals are a factor, but I suspect the ROI might end up better for the long-term buyer who selects his domains near the bottom of todays market.

Who here is investing in LLLL.com's as long-term investments? And how long are you going to hold on to them?

I am investing in LLLL.com long term. The internet is still growing. As more and more people come online the demand will only go up for short domain names.

I am investing in the LLLL.com market for long term. I'm not much for the risk of flipping.

I will sell any LLLL.com for the right offer, but I am really in no rush to unload quality names for small ROI.

What LLLL.com's are you investing in? I just picked up a triple premium yesterday for $30, I couldn't pass that up.

I like these prices of $30 - $40 for triple premiums and I feel pretty confident that I should be able to sell it for much more if I hold onto it for 3 to 5 years..

I wouldn't mind picking up a quad premium or a pronounceable LLLL.com

Great point! I'd sell to an end user but otherwise I'm just holding out for a much larger ROI

I have a little of everything. Most are bottom feeders which I am slowly trading up for better names
