Is the LLLL.com HYPE down now?
It looks like selling 4 letter is not as profitable as it was last week and right after november 2.

If some did a big investment on these I don't know if they are loosing money. Some have portfolio of hundreds LLLL.com that are not premium so if they spend $800.00 (register fees) how will they sell them all if there is no more buyers?

I know I have a solution (in my guide) but even this, I think that many will bite their fingers.

Do you think that 4 letter dot coms will increase value or will be selling at "wholesale" cheapest price ($6.00 - $16) in future?

Likewise, definitely appreciate your perspective as a balance to the frenzied "sky is the limit" for all 456,976 of these beasties ... I'll be okay if my anti-premium LLLL do even half as well as CCC.com in the next couple years - or not, will just be relatively cheap tuition in the school of hard knocks in that case. (also prefer if prices stay on the sane side while I'm still trying to buy a few more nice ones...) :)

I don't see any decrease in the hype at all. Very hard to buy decent domains now. And when I buy I'm paying prices I never thought I would just a few months ago. From my perspective 4 letter .com's have never been hotter than right now.

I'm pretty sure the value of LLLL.coms will increase after a year or so. I think many of us need to be a bit patient. There are lots of resellers selling their new 4Ls for only a few bucks above the reg fee, so many 4Ls are still available to us. That's why the prices are still quite low.

The crappy names are being sold by demoralized domainers, who expected to be millionaires by November 3-5 - immediately after the 4Ls were sold out.

I wouldn't advice people to hold on to their 4Ls, only because I do have faith in these 4L domains and I'd take them anytime. :D

Besides, in a few years more words will be invented by these kids :D , more words will be added to the dictionary, and more companies will come up with weird word/letter combinations.

I'm patient and I'll be holding on to the ones I have for a few more years. If I lose, I lose, but the risk just might be worth it.

I purchased about 120 LLLLs but there are not very ugly and I planned them for long-time investment. Currently I have an opportunity to renew all them for one year for $4 only each. And I'll do it :) I'll wait some while prices decrease more and will buy even more.

Facts:
1) As soon as any LLLL name drops is picked up in seconds
2) Did you check latest TDNAM final prices for expired LLLL?
3) In Snapnames you can t buy any LLLL for less the 29$ now.
4) Lately few good sales on auctions on Sedo for Mid quality LLLL
I see more and more interest in LLLL, getting hotter and hotter.
Just Facts! :imho:
(I will keep mine at least until an offer can t refuse :) and develop some others...)

I`m third in the queue to discover $4 .com renewal price :)

It`s not the hype that id down but rather the number of LLLL.com around is DOWN.

And the few around , are the poorest in quality.

As happened for the LLL , the first to go higher are always the better quality ones , then when they go too high , people will fight over the cheapest too pushing them higher.

Possible that someone here don`t get it?

2 months ago , these LLLL.com were not even worth reg fee. NOw they go between $10 and $20 (the ugliest).

Give them some time to flip and flop and you`ll see what a shortage is.

I wrote it from more than 3 months that at least for 3-6 months following the sell-out there were going to be MANY little sales in the $10 - $20 area. It`s just normal.

Talk about getting the average ones........look at their prices.....look at the ones with 3 Premium letters and the U .....going for around $100 now.

I've been seeing the same thing. I wonder if those claiming the hype is dead/slowing down failed to capitalize on one of the best (along with LLL.coms, L-L-L.coms, CVCV/VCVC.coms) domain investments to come around this year :guilty:

Prices are still very reasonable... There's no evidence to suggest the "hype" has decreased in any way. If anything, the 100+ views on a thread of mine posted yesterday just before 10PM forum time listing my LLLL.coms as being for sale to endusers, would suggest that there is increased interest in LLLL.coms

Offtopic. Sorry, but I can't tell you how to register domains for $4 because it's not available to everyone and I think soon this loophole will be closed. It's not connected with coupons but only with some electron currencies exchange rates problems.

i think people must be patient
you want to have 1,000,000,000,000,000% profit in the overnight and thats. of course, impossible
we have had many proofs that it takes some years to have a good profit but it happens (see LLL.com)
wait people, wait... thats my advice

other already guys said here, and it is true that the premium ones goes first and then the others come

why do you think i didnt lose LLLL.com nor L-L-L.com? ;)

Some LLLL owners decided to do quick money on selling worst part of their portfolios to get some money for some red caviar perhaps. This not reason to start urgently selling out everybody's LLLL.coms

It's hard to say what the right move is... I guess it depends on where you are in life.

Annual Return of 12% on say, $30,000 worth of sold LLLL.coms:
30 years later, you'd have $960,000 (inflation not taken into account).

So for a young guy who wants a nice nest egg, now may already be a good time to sell.

For me, someone looking to retire inside of 10 years, the promise of selling LLLL.coms and striking it rich in the stock market isn't as promising.

Same scenario... $30,000 over 10 years yields $100,000. Not bad, but hardly enough to retire on in Canada.

So the right decision for me (not selling) might not necessarily be the right decision for someone else. I don't have the luxury of time. I can't afford to wait 30 years for my stocks to appreciate considerably...

I'd rather chance hitting something meaningful with LLLL.coms - something that could seriously change my future and maybe help me make that million, than give up that chance for a few thousand profit.

(No, I am not about to rain on the parade :) )

The key to eventual value will be end user purchases. As with anything precious and limited, they often change hands among speculators for a while (which we all are unless we develop our names), but eventually they are worth what end users will pay in x number of years.

This is what happened with LLLs - they did increase in value a bit when they traded among domainers only, but they syrocketed when a few companies with 3 letter acronyms or otherwise thought they were marketable jumped in and bought some for 4x,xxx or 5x,xxx or much more. That's when speculators started to pay x,xxx and sometimes 1x,xxx for them. Its the same with land and most other precious things.

So, I predict that there will be a slow increase in value in anticipation of what might be. However, any expolsion in value, like what happened with LLLs, will take place with those categories (cvcv, double letters, whatever) of LLLLs that end users start buying (and if the categories becomes "all" like it did with LLLs, that would be great).

Somebody said mid-2008. That was astute bacause that may be where "the big money" has been able to assess the end user value of LLLLs.

JMHO

for LLLL.coms wif big portfolios i am sure they dun mind a small percentage of their LLLL.coms away for reasonable ammount.. nthen wif the money to reinvest on smth else.. money keep rolling n personally i think its rolls faster.. of course u might think if u sell everything out n by 10 years u wud regret why u sell part of it now for such low $$$ when the minimum wholesale at that time can be much higher.. but its everybody;s own choice to keep for long term investment or for quick profit although small.. when there is demand there will be supply..
