LLLL.com : The near Future

1 year ago there were about 60,000 LLLL.com left.

Now it`s about 18,000

I don`t see how people can argue about buy out or no buy out.

In my opinion , max 2 months and they are gone, as registrations are increasing as predicted by many of us, includind the DYYO creator.

I`m expecting between now and let`s say a couple of months after they run out totally , that there will be many sales ranging from the $10 to the $20 because many of the lastminute buyers are indeed small investors that are looking for a quick return, but as it`s already clear that SnapNames is catching most of the dropping LLLL.com , it is very reasonable to expect a minimun price of $50 (instead of the $60 for Snap) for any LLLL.com after that time. Then, prices should keep increasing at least at $100 each like for the 3 chars .com that in my opinion are more useless than an average LLLL.com

Let`s have a look at this website for example, that I just found on Google and look the owner`s expectations:

http://www.domaining.in/domains-for-sale/index.php?sort=price&cat=1

I`ll copy just the cheapest of its portfolio:

zduo.com 4 letter .coms GoDaddy 04/29/2008 $ 75.00 For Sale
rbux.com 4 letter .coms GoDaddy 04/14/2008 $ 100.00 For Sale
vzza.com 4 letter .coms GoDaddy 04/16/2008 $ 100.00 For Sale

xevl.com 4 letter .coms Moniker 02/18/2009 $ 200.00 For Sale

I have ran across most of these names here at Np, the owner/s is/are most probably a Np'er

Lorenzo...you need to stop obsessing over LLLL.coms :)

But I'll agree...they're good investments. But you won't be finding any QXYJ.com names in my portfolio, and I don't think most others would buy them either, so I don't see any point in regging names like that.

I've got some LLLL.coms too.... hopefully I'll be able to sell them at a good price soon! There is a market for domains like XQZ.com and I'm sure the same concept (limited supply) will carry over to LLLL.coms but obviously to a lesser extent.

I think September is going to be a very interesting month for the 4 letter .com's. Its summer - here at least - not exactly a great time for selling domains. After Labour Day I think you are going to see the 4 character .com market really move into high gear.

The price of LLLL.coms are skyrocketing.

A month ago IKUF.com was sold for only $10 in TDNam.

Today IVUF.com was sold for $112 in TDNam.

IKUF has a better letter combo than IVUF.

If IKUF is being auctioned today I could only assume that the price could be around $150 or more.

indeed, but do u think it was too expensive to the buyer, xman?

another question: we all know the best LLLL.com r CVCV... besides CVCV which do u think r the best? (VCVC?, VVCC?, CCVV? CVVC?, 3 vowels anywhere in the name? 1 vowel anywhere in the name? or VVVV?... i think CCCC r the worst, arent they?)

Is IVUF.com to much for the buyer? Probably not if the buyer is an end user but for domainers like us probably.

I've been watching the buying behavior of LLLL.com and I have to tell you it is so unpredictable. Let assume that the combo. contains some lesser quality letters since we all know that premium letter combo are valued differently.

I will pick only 3 categories and IMO:

VCVC
CVVC
VCCV

Respectively!

And let you decide base on these sales:

ivuf.com --$112 --08/18/2007

uyuc.com --$135 --08/07/2007

toew.com --$262 --07/28/2007

owdo.com --$96 --07/13/2007

odaw.com --$95 --07/13/2007

ofoy.com --$85 --07/13/2007

umoy.com --$61 --07/13/2007

upoy.com --$61 --07/13/2007

oruh.com --$47 --07/13/2007

yeod.com --$30 --07/13/2007

saoy.com --$78 --06/16/2007

veak.com --$260 --06/04/2007

deyn.com --$160 --06/04/2007

gorz.com --$260 --06/04/2007

vugy.com --$255 --06/02/2007

ozow.com --$110 --06/02/2007

ugir.com --$78 --06/02/2007

rirk.com --$525 --06/02/2007

riur.com --$37 --06/02/2007

kiiy.com --$35 --05/30/2007

izro.com --$120 --05/30/2007

Keep in mind that the sales above is just a tiny fraction of a sample and not to be referred to whole population of LLLL.com statistically speaking.

yes, u r totally right... the buying behavior is unpredictable (the list above says everything) :)

maybe the prices can vary from sites to sites... weve seen great sales in afternic (u r posting them here) as an example

BTW, toew.com was sold for $262 and today to begin the auction u must bid at least $299 (it was a domainer who bought it)

Maybe he's trying to hype-up the LLLL.com domains, a bit like the pump & dump techniques done with stocks :hehe:

I `m not doing any pump & dump.

If this is the general impression, I` sorry, I`ll quit these kinds of threads. No problem.

Kind regards

htmlindex was just kidding. We all are domainers and keep abreast of things. We all know how LLLL.com values are appreciating.

he may have been kidding but I read several other members referring to my threads as "hype" so I think I`m going to be quite now, I don`t have a problem with it, I got a lot of things to do too :)

As long as you have some valid point in your thread you shouldn't pay attention with them. Criticism is everywhere and whether it's 4 letter or 5 letter or 6 letter they will always have something to say against it. There is one Philosopher that said "I am Such A Critic and Sometimes I Even Criticized My Own Work"

Those are some of mine :) It's a bit out of date now, many have sold and I have a few more to add.

I agree that prices are skyrocketing especially on all premium and CVCV combinations. Even relatively bad CVCV names are selling well, I picked up xocu.com not long ago for $180 (there seemed to be mixed reaction as to whether it was worth the money): http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/337693-nice-cvcv-sales-on-tdnam.html it sold a couple of weeks later at Sedo auction for $725. Same with zoza.com - I paid $40 for that around 6 months ago and sold it for a decent profit. yevi.com I picked up less than a year ago at Snap for $60, sold it for ~$500 earlier this year and the person I sold it to flipped it for 3 times that within two weeks.

It's now also becoming incresingly difficult to pick up random all premium letter combos for under $100, less than a year ago I managed to pick up more than 200 for $10 each (sold them all a while back for an okay profit but could have made a killing if I had held onto them). It used to be that you could pick up many random all premium LLLL.coms at Snapnames for $60 with no competition at all but in the last 2 months or so there seem to be at least a few other bidders in on all the auctions driving the prices up.

I'm not saying that random bad letter combinations are going to be super valuable overnight (or perhaps ever) but the market is definitely hotting up and has been for some time. Some people seem to think this is a fad and the market is overhyped but I believe it's going to continue growing, guess time will tell..

I just wanted to quote myself , we are almost 2 months later and despite it`s taking a bit longer than what I expected , the buy out seems coming soon.

But also, the many sales between $10 and $20 are already happening so this is very good, I was expecting this later.
