I can't really take this waiting anymore. I think I'm going to finish registering my last few names this week. Develop them and then unplug my computer for a year, or at least until I hear about mobi again from a radnom person.

For that year I'll pick up a new hobby and forget about my domains to keep myself occupied. Then when I go back online I will be happy to learn that MOBI is a big success and I'm part of it.

When the 2007 fall product lines come out in advance of Christmas sales we will see how many mobile devices feature .MOBI as an option and how many have it as a default.

That will mean a great deal more than the $$$,$$$ those four names (and others) bring.

Although I imagine each will affect the other.

If they are smart they will spend the money on advertising so they can REALLY start lining their pockets!!! And ours too :hehe:

Check out propositions at ICANN, they do show expected profit numbers and they have no reason necessarily to put that money back into advertising unless they can show that those advertising bucks will bring in lot more. Will that hold true once all the premium names are sold? I am not sure.

At first I was thinking it was a bad thing and wishing they would just auction off the names, but the more I think about it, this is a very calcutated way to ensure that premium .mobis get developed. I think it is a smart move. If the premium names were auctioned off or available at landrush, many of them (or most) would just be parked pages. This way, premium names will have some development money behind them. I think the people at .mobi have thought this one through.

I Agree totally. I think the parties involved (i.e Google,Microsoft,Nokia, etc . .) have come up with a very well thought out plan to capitalize on the next big thing. And besides they have the billions of dollars to hire research firms who have access to data that we do not.
