dotMobi Extends Deadline for Premium Name RFPs

Due to strong interest from multiple leading brands, dotMobi is extending the deadline for the first round of its Request for Proposals (RFP) process.

To accommodate requests for extensions, the deadline for RFP submissions has been moved from December 18, 2006 to February 16, 2007. This first round of RFPs includes four highly sought after premium .mobi domain names: “news.mobi”, “ringtones.mobi”, “sports.mobi” and “weather.mobi.”

perhaps the requests received didn't cover all the aspects MTLD was hoping for: i.e. Price, Marketing Plan, Execution, etc... this will be interesting.

I agree that the Dec 18th deadline is a bit too close for the whole process of gathering requirements, thinking of ideas, drafting proposals, going thru approval process (within the competing companies), etc.
This is the first batch so they want to do it carefully.
