What, if any, are the general values of a L-L-L dot com domains?

Perhaps it's my own bias (based on experience and market analysis of course) but our staff isn't authorised to register any double hyphenated domains (no, not even online-poker or search-engine or free-ringtones)...

IMHO, there are simply too many factors against the hyphenated domains - especially for end-user sales or development. That, and in recent months during the economic downturn... there have been way too many other non-hyphenated opportunities around.

Note that I'm not saying that we're purely anti hyphenated domains. It's more a question of there being far more domains that don't have the constraints of that hyphen.

LOL ya well they are expiring soon and I'm trimming down to just a handful of decent ones. K-s-j is especially nice considering the site on the .net and info. New owner is a local in their business area (Japan). He should have a better chance to sell it. Lots of acronyms with pertinent end users, however still a hard sell in my experience. Guess I should have spammed this thread with my auction links! :P

Mind you I know I have been away from the market for quite a few months but comming back to it just over a week ago has been a shock, basically all sales are down - they have caught the epidemic of that has affected the High Street retailers and offices.

This has definately become a buyers market, hell it is even worse than that really, this past week I have managed to hand reg over 100 domains that were not available a year ago, several of them are already showing a profit over cost by just parking them! No way should I have been able to hand reg such numbers of domains, but people have let them drop.

The L-L-L market has definitely dropped substantially - even in the last 3 months. Earlier this year triple-premium L-L-L.com's were tough to find under $50, but now I routinely grab them for under $15. I have had a good amount of overall success with L-L-L's, but so far only in the .COM arena.
