I received an email from some unknown company

Dear Domain Holder,

This message is a reminder to help you keep the contact data associated with your domain registration up-to-date.

As of October 31, 2003 we are required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to send you this reminder by the Anniversary date of each registered Domain Name that is subject to the terms and conditions of that organization.

Below is a list of domain names with your email address listed as the registrant or administrative contact. The current contact information associated with the domain may be verified by following the link provided.
If any of the contact data is inaccurate, it must be corrected. If the contact data is accurate, no further action is required to comply with this notice.

Please remember that under the terms of your registration agreement, the provision of false Whois (contact) information can be grounds for cancellation of your domain name registration.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
You most likely got that from whoever is managing your domain name. That's
a periodic email to remind customers to ensure their domain name's contact
information is complete and updated.

name-services.com is an enom server, so either your domain name is with
enom, or it's with an enom reseller.

Righto ... I believe leading up to its yearly Anniversary (registration) date, IMHO.
Please remember that under the terms of your registration agreement, the provision of false Whois (contact) information can be grounds for cancellation of your domain name registration.

If it's suspected - or someone reports it to the Registrar - that there may be intentionally false WhoIs contact information, you would likely receive a separate and much more SPECIFIC inquiry from the Registrar (versus this standard Anniversary notification). You'll then be granted a period of time (10 - 14 days, I believe I've read) to both get in touch with them -and- to more accurately reflect the contents of the Whois ... after that, you may very well be subject to forfeiture of your domain name.
So, be sure to check all corresponce from your Registrars! :gl:
