i only have a couple of domain names at present and am really just wanting to sell them on without it getting too complicated. so i was reading about domain parking and thinking - is it worth it? does it really bring in enough sales or revenue to bother with. its just i work full time so only have x hours in the day to fit everything in and it would be one more thing to keep an eye on if its not that efficient

Even if money grew on trees, some people wouldn't get any because sometimes you have to stretch to reach the branches and that takes effort.

I am no expert in domaining, but it seems to me that those that make the best returns on their investment are the ones that actually put some effort into it.

Unless you have premium domains that do sell themselves then generally....

Parking a domain is better than doing nothing, but not as good as developing it.

Putting a domain to auction is better than parking it and hoping somebody will find it and offer to buy it, but putting it to auction and driving potential purchasers to the auction yourself or contacting end users direct is better still...... but of course harder work.

you can register 100 expired domains and make less than 1 $ in a month from the parking.
But , it's like @Paully said, if you register a domain and just try to find a buyer and never park it, then you sell it and find out that the person who parked it is now making 40$ a month off of it, you won't be a happy camper. Any domain i register, i always park it and typically move it around to different parking sites, as where one site may yield results for a certain domain, another might not give anything at all.
Also, parking the domain will get it onto the search engines(if it's not already), increasing the chances of gaining more visitors. This is why I switch around domains from different parking sites, as it seems to increase the views I get on certain domains and actually will show results on domains where there were 0 visitors prior and now parked somewhere else it is getting 5 a day. 0 vs 5 a day = 0 vs 30x5(150/month) --

Food For Thought my friend,
(edit: i strongly urge you to never pay to park a domain. *cough* Godaddy.)
