Is "adult" or "sex" the better keyword?

I am thinking about buying an adult-oriented domain that includes one of the listed words found below...Wanted NP members opinions as to which keyword is the better choice:

adult or

sex

I ask because the Alexa ranking for adult.com is far higher than for sex.com. I would be developing my site to generate revenue and eventually for resale.

I can tell you that I have AdultCaskets.com and at first the landing page showed a casket with sex references and links. I contacted the parking company which corrected the problem and told me that the word adult is often targeted as sex. So if adult can get you the same results, it's something to think about.

anglinn, right after you posted it gave me a great idea for a domain, I just regd DubaiAdult.com

In answer to your question it all depends on the kind of site you want to develop. Sex has about 100,000,000 more search results, it all depends on that other keyword.

Sex every time. Unless the domain isn't targeted at adult sex.

I would have to say SEX by far, even though Adult.com has a higher traffic rating, you also have to take a look at the search statistics,

SEX - 6,187,840 Ovt ADULT - 1,431,535 Ovt

But thats just me...

Adult is English specific word, not so well known like sex.
