What are the rules of .co.uk domains?

I have a domain that I must have that has no email address in the WHOIS and has no telephone number, and it is a .co.uk domain.

Do the same rules about invalid WHOIS infos apply to .co.uk as they do with .com? Who do I report it to? What do I do? :td:

Is it me or are you always trying to pick up names on invalid whois claims. Why must you have these names?

I think it is the same as .com - although I don't think that you would have any special right to it if they did take it off the owner.

There is info - rules - contact numbers here if you fancy a read through in more detail.

yeah as far as i know the domain would still be regged and they would likely just tell the owneer to update his whois, you ever thought about just offering the guy to buy the domain? instead of trying to find a way to get it for reg fee

Well I'd like to make an offer, but there is no email and there is no phone number. The last domain that I had to get was for a company that I'm brokering for, with complete invalid WHOIS.

This one is for myself, but once again, invalid WHOIS. I decided to send the guy a postal mail since he does have the address there. I typed up a letter and I'm mailing it first thing tomorrow morning.

Although, sometimes if you want the domain, and you can't get it, you can't just sit and be a nice guy. You have to make a move.

Well the German registrar put up a webpage on it that said "Service terminated" so they did get the message from ICANN. Now I'm just waiting for them to drop the domain/put it in redemption. So far it has been 10 days from the Service terminated page that they put up.

Surprisingly, the owner bought it in 2003 and has never even changed the nameservers or updated the domain. I guess they had no way of contacting him, and expiration was 2007. I wonder how much longer I'll have to wait...

In the UK you are given the option to hide your whois information when you register a .co.uk so the domain isn't breaking any rules.

LOL

UK WHOIS NEVER displays the tel no and email address, only the address.
Be glad that he opted to have public WHOIS = address displayed.

Yeah I read that already at several registrars. That is really phoney for the .co.uk Nic to be so flexible on the rules.

I'm mailing the guy a letter tomorrow. ;)

It's not phoney, it just protects your privacy. If they want you to contact them, they will keep it up surely?
