I have seen quite a few registered lately, has anyone got any comments on these names. What if there was a good keyword name, is it worth grabbing.


I believe its the Isle Of Man, but are people possibly going to use the "Instant Messaging" acronym for these domains??

Sorry but as I see it, more value is in personal meaning like professions or adjectives. But I could be wrong. Anyway, count few more years at minimum for the extension getting some recognition.

Two of my .IM names, Brandy and Beijing...

I put brandy on VooDoo and from 7/26 to 8/27 got 39 visitors and 58 cents...I dunno, but not too bad for this extension.

I made a simple Wordpress site with Beijing on August 3rd and so far have 127 visitors with 72 emanating from China and 46 from the USA...

I gotta feeling if I knew what I was doing I could get more visitors for Beijing, but I just do not have the time to putz with it, but I am happy it gets this much attention.

Brandy gets some every day it looks like. Wonder how it would be if it was a bona fide site...

I'm sorry to say that I've never received ANY offer for these. Truth is that I stopped promoting them after the first month, they're on Sedo and here (make offer secion).
Plus, I made a small website of maria.im (most used feminine name in the world). No results.

Dont give up! I guess no big sales in the next 10 years will occur. BUT the good thing about those premium words is, they are interesting for "small" developers. So why would you pay XXX K USD for .com or XX K USD for other TLDs, when you can have good catchy keyword domain for high XXX. I guess no TLD extension can beat that.

Marketplace TLD over saturation already. However for a small price I guess a High keyword may yield at least your initial return if not higher.

I prefer single word domains in .IM
However, there are many web designing companies and one might be willing to buy at high $xxx or low $xxx.

If you bought for development purpose than it's good. But for selling to an end user will be difficult IMO...

Hopefully my friend and myself with develop it into a social media travel site.

Time will tell.

I want to see how many hits it attracts from sedo for the first month, just to gauge interest etc.

Best of luck with your new venture. Hopes for the best. The only problem in buying single/double letter .IM domains are their higher reg/renewal fee!
