How many domains do you own?

How big your domain portfolio?

I start from myself: I own 10 domains.

Really???
Most my enduser sales were handregs, including highest sales.
Many have done similar to you and lost there shirts, I would slow down and read up on what sells and what doesn't. It doesn't take long to spend a small fortune on worthless names., not saying yours are worthless but most people who hand reg domains never sell them
Good luck
Joe T
maybe, actually a don't have any experience in selling domains name
so if you accept I can send to you the list of my domains to give me your opinion?(y)

Just landed in the field of domaining, probably three months. The count is 30. Made mistakes.I have spent 1000 $ around. Now will stick to rules , investing in quality.domains

You also need to know where to buy domains (for cheap).

stop regging
and read through this forum

if you want to make money

This is good advice for a beginner, however I must observe that it's not an 100% rule. It also depends on the weapons at hand.

Out of 1.6K domains I own, about 600 are reg's. The funny thing is, those are what i'm getting most inquiries for. So there's money in that. In fact I am 100% sure I will renew those, but not so sure about the other 1k.

It really depends on the tools. I'm also a dev so I made my own keyword generators and stuff, and sifting through millions of combinations before regging any. Some niches are 99.9% taken, well, there is also the 0.1 % still waiting there to be picked by someone who has the right tools.

I have about 9,950 domains, most of them .com followed by .de.

I like to collect things and I like trial and error and learning by doing and so is the quality of my portfolio. No super excellent names, a few quite good ones, a lot of hmmm ones and too much crap which drops regularly after I had to accept it is crap.

I believe there is a domainer evolution. I am mostly handregging and buy a lot of names in Expired Auctions. I am aware that instead of handregging of say 200 names out of the blue (not really, there is a plan behind it and no name maker machine) I should buy one good, fair priced name in the aftermarket. But there is a mental barrier and a financial limitation to do so if you "have" to renew 9,950 other names. I am at least moving towards the next step of the evolution.

However, I like domaining as you do and I am satisfied. Self-critics is appropiate not to lose the approach of steadily improving and (Lord, please) reducing the portfolio as well as showing others (beginners) that a high number of medium quality domains is no value.

hand reg domains never sell them
Not true. I sold one my handreg half a year ago SouthernUkraine.com at NP auctions for $1. Hand regs can sell but cheap, the better to buy domains.

now 2 weeks in domaining , with 49 hand reg:xf.grin:
I will advise you to calm down if you are really new. I enter domaining in 2016, I had a total of $1000 ($750 minus commission) in less with than portfolio of less than 15 names (all handregged).

I went on handregging spree throwing. Most I later found out were useless and o let expired. Then I was f*cked over by crypto again. Now I am grinding for a 2nd chance, building up a decent portfolio little by little. So I will say "wisdom, calmness and research".

188

Sold 7 names this year, so a 3.72% sell through ratio......

Will very rarely hand reg now (Saying that if a new trend appears like Defi will take a look :xf.smile:), mainly looking at liquid or aftermarket names on Namepros and other places...

Out of the current 188 I will be dropping 30 - 40 names with a view to buying a similar amount next year.

Personally think 200 and below is a good number for me......

About 200. I am slowly dwindling down my portfolio. I would like to be in a spot where I was buying and selling premium domain names only . . . with a few flyers and hand regs:)
