Hello World. I think the topic question is a bit misleading, but I guess I'll explain. I'm pretty sure I know how the "rules" to finding domains and everything. I've studied and studied hard, and I'm sure I can get good at domaining.....

If only I knew just WHERE and HOW to sell them. I mean I'm very happy I sold my first two domains a few days ago on the same month I started domaining, but I'm guessing the rest of the domains I have now are crap. Newbie mistake here.

But assuming I DO have some good domains, I still wouldn't know how to attract buyers, since I have almost no feedback to my credit on how trustworthy I am and everything.

So my question to you guys is this: What did you do when you first started domaining? Did you actually buy domains here or on eBay/Sedo/wherever to build up your feedback? Or what method did you use? Where and how did you promote your domains?

Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S.: I ain't looking for the new multi-million dollar names or anything like that. I know that won't happen haha.

There are a lot of areas that you addressed in your post. At this late hour, I will offer these two tips: Find a niche (like lll.net) and buy quality domains (avoid hand regs).

Knowing a deal when you see one if much easier if you specialize in one area.

Simple Solution to your problem.
Too many noobs focus on Howto Sell Names.
Rather than Howto to buy good names in the first place.

Research, Think, and consider all names carefully BEFORE purchase..

Good names will always sell easily. Lousy names need too much effort when selling.

Think of domaining as a Desert. You will not have any trouble selling Ice-cold drinks to thirsty travellers, but can't give-away buckets of Sand.

I think BFT hit the nail on the head. More people focus on selling names rather than the techniques of buying names. If you buy only quality names then the names practically sell themselves. Yes this mean you can still hand reg domains and it is recommended to start this way. This way you learn the ropes without losing hundreds of dollars on one name.

If you think you have crap names look in to building mini-sites. They can usually save the domain from just being dropped and actually make you some kind of profit.
