I know this is a .mobi forum, but do need some appraisal here, what's your opinion on this name?

IMO, .mobi is a success in reseller market, not in end user market atm. There is many (or maybe more and more) purblishers/corps have adopted .mobi for their mobile service, but not too many. I am one of the sedo premium .mobi auction winners, and the development is on its way. We will see.

I think its worth over $100 now. I like it.

Just to give a balanced total view, I don't think .mobi is guaranteed mainstream success at the present, but feel it has been successful beyond expectation and almost on the verge of going public and may get there by the end of the year. If that success is reached it could fade/disappear as well.

With a domain like forum.mobi in your hands, IMHO we can afford to be that much more relaxed about end user development.

We haven't met or indeed spoken, all I know is that you are on NP and you are an intelligent person.

That's all it takes.

If for some reason you can't develop it in time, you will know what the name's true value is and who to sell it to.

If forum.mobi was bought by a big corporate for not much, the development requirements could easily have sat in somebody's in-tray until Accounting take over ownership of the case and decide to write it off as a pure loss and forget about it - because for them it's only worth what the company paid for it.

In domaining (reseller market) there are indeed not much end users in the game. So in that market .mobi is indeed not yet a big success.

On the other hand: IN MARKETING, A lot publishers/corps adopted .mobi. More and more decision making people understand that the use of .mobi will benefit their mobile brand awareness and mobile traffic. So thats why I think it is a success. Marketing will break or make a product and .mobi is the perfect marketing tool to announce a mobile website. Too many people/publishers/corps know that .mobi will benefit their business. That is why I think .mobi is a success. The domaining market (end user buyers) will follow the marketeers soon...
