GoDaddy issue with expired names

Ok, I tried to find some info via search engine and here but got way too many matches that were not relevant.

So I'll ask here... what's the deal with Godaddy selling expired names for 10X the reg. price? I checked GD and then another registrar to make sure it was available and GD wants $99 (like a premium name thing or something, even though it's not.) The other place says Available for standard charge (a little less than $11.)

Isn't this some type of illegal practice? The name is available and only seems GD is charging the ripoff price for an available domain.

I am also getting Prices like this sometimes but when you go to checkout page than the price will be as usual so don't be scared of this

This happens lots of times. It seems like they have an issue updating names that were previously for sale in their system. When you check a name and it comes up as available but with a premium style price the way to know the difference between actually for sale or available is this:

A premium name that is truly taken and for sale will have the premium price and under the premium price it will say "first year price" and then under that it will say "renewal price $14.99" but if it shows just the premium price and nothing else that means it is available for regular registration fee even though it could say $5,000 and if it is available for regular registration cost it will normally just say $12.99. So just click add and it will show the regular registration fee in the checkout cart even though it lists a premium price.

It has happened to me too but as Ibrahim12 said when you go to the checkout it's a reg fee price.
And if it's not go to another registrar as I did a couple of times!
