I don't agree that they are valueless. I notice that the top .info sales of the year are German language and sold by Sedo (German company). See top INFO sale of year at http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm I therfore looked into the German language and found the following domains. Not bad for free.

I would hope a good .info is still a good .info. If the other TLD's are all taken and it is a good subject, why would it be worth $0? I grabbed NASCARforum.info. I'm sure it is not a 4 figure domain, but it should add to the bottom line - right?

I picked up about 40 or so I had held off registering because I thought they might be worth less than $50 retail. When they are free, If I can get $12-15 I'm that far ahead.

BTW, there are a few registrars not offering them for free in this promotion, but at discounted prices I'll add to this thread:

4-5 months from now, no one will know what was free and what was not. I don't think it will effect the market much except maybe to resellers.

as i tolf u i phoned up, they are pretty unreliable!

They even wont promis they wont increase the price of .info per year! so transfer your GOOD .info's to reliable registrars NOW like godaddy or namecheap.

I don't know anything for sure but something weird was going on with a ddos targeted at them when they started the free .info's offer. Now the offer has ended early and the attack has stopped.

I just got 25 free at www.namesecure.com they really are free!
I got FLrentals.info and FLrental.info as well as some others like 3chars.info and adwarekill.info and a whole bunch of other kick ass ones...I'm suprised so many good ones are still avail!
