For example, I am the owner of the domain “XZY.com”. Suppose there was a company that used the domain “XYZCosmetics.com”. “XYZ” is an invented name, similar to Google, for example.
I would like to know whether it is legally permitted to sell the domain to this company in general. I would ask for clarification. If there are no legal problems the following: The company has many active advertisements, so the turnover and scaling potential is high. Should I approach the company now and make a price offer or wait until the company is even bigger?

Thank you in advance!

With best regards
Felix

You’ve basically got two smart plays here: jump in early to cut down on any legal headaches and lock in a deal while their valuation’s still chill, or hang back and maybe cash in bigger once XYZCosmetics levels up. One slick move? Test the waters quietly-park the domain, see who bites. That way, you get a feel for demand without putting yourself out there. If the signals are good, you can reach out in a few weeks with a light touch, so it feels like you're being collaborative, not coming in hot. The real win might come from syncing your offer with one of their big moments-like after a funding round or a rebrand. Bottom line: a low-key approach now gives you leverage later, and helps you dodge any legal or reputation drama.

Thank you very much! The idea sounds great. I will write here again when something has happened.
