Hey guys just wanted to know how many people get worried when they are about to post their domains that they believe is worth more than at least handreg fee in the NP auctions section with a starting bid of $1?

I'm just gonna vent now.

Do you guys (like me) ever worry.

"what if no one bids?"
or even worse.

what if the domain you regged for $5-$15? only gets $1 bid and now you have to hand it over?

I guess the second part of this question is what are you experiences with $1 starting auctions with no reserve?

It's crazy right? or is it just me?

It's the main reason I have never tried it. to the point I just end up letting domains I can no longer afford to renew just go.

probably could have sold them here to recoup my spend on them. at least that's the idea.

but never do and end up dropping. stupid right?

and keep my best ones that I believe have better chance at $xxx, o $x,xxx

and never post here those here.

Do people ever sell their $1 auctions above say at least 2 years or 3 years of renewals?

It's pretty sad.

I keep hearing people make sales daily from these $1 auctions?

Who are these people? how do they do it?

I've pissed off alot of people on here over the years.

is NP a buddy system like I suspect? never went out of my way to be fake just to buddy buddy up with people on here just so they will buy my domains. perhaps that was my mistake?

will people not buy because they think I'm an idiot or am "that annoying guy on NP".

If that's the case maybe it's time to end my paid account and check out greener pastures.

As of yet I have not made a dime selling Domains on NP.

Bottomline? if post domains on here for $1? will I profit ie. get back my renewal fee? and then some?

I'd be happy with that.

how do you guys do it?

seems to be an ART to do such things on NP.

and I'm not even talking about the ones where people just put their BUY now prices for domains in other threads.

sorry just had to vent.

Been doing outbounds (finally) and no replies gets me frustrated.

sometimes I feel like just dumping my entire inventory on here and give up.

people in the "real world" just aren't buying domains or "don't get it".

I see companies with over 1000+ domains. some of which are ridiculous in weird extensions and hyphens but yet they won't even respond to a domain offer for a domain that's an exact match for product they own and make millions off of in king?

the hell?

If I post a $1 auction I already know I'm letting it go no matter what. I have prepared myself for the disconnect.

If it's a good name it will get bids. $1 start can also get more bidders involved early and more often. From my experience auctioning here and as a bidder, once someone has placed a bid on domain and gets outbid they are quite likely to make at least one more bid as the previous bidder has affirmed the value is there for the name. It can sometimes create a snowball effect and you get a nice result.

I also agree with @creataweb that you need to have that ability to disconnect from the name and the potential profit you were convinced it was going to make you before starting this type of sale. Ultimately the quality of the name is the biggest factor in profitability. Listing decent names that you are ready to let go of for $1 can be pretty exciting and unnerving, part of the fun of being a domainer!

Iโ€™m not selling very often on NP, but when I start an auction here at $1, if there is no bids for the first 12 hours I just delete the auction.

I never worry about it - it's quite simple for me. These are my quick flips, and I am prepared to let them go for whatever amount they fetch at auction. Also, I wonder how many domainers become so desperate to sell that they actually forget one of the golden rules... patience.

I nearly posted a name on hear a few weeks back for auction @ $1 but held off. Did some outbound and sold it for $150.

Just do it! Let it go for whatever it fetches.
Life is to short to worry and wait for tomorrow that never comes!:xf.smile:
