So I received an email just now that Tucows the owner of Enom will be migrating accounts to Hover. IMPORTANT: Your Enom account will be moved to Hover Hello, This is a notice that on November 20 2019, your Enom account and services will be migrated from Enom to Hover. The migration of your services is happening so that Tucows Inc., who owns both Enom and Hover, can … [Read more...]

How about domain on namecheap? Some registrar says that namecheap is part of enom or big reseller from enom?

I think they parted ways a long time ago.

Many enom owners have been moving domains for months prior, this does not come as a suprise, I have a few left, and I will transfer them all out as I want no participation in forced migration.

    RIP ENOM

I keep one domain at Enom and it’s a premium .tv. I’d love to get it to godaddy but they say transfer of premiums isn’t allowed.

I was with Hover for a number of years since way back when they bought out Domain Direct.

The guys at Hover are stand up guys and I never had any issues with them.
I migrated out when I started having hundreds of domains because I needed better bulk tools.

Don't know how their bulk tools are today but I assume they have been put in place and from my experience I would have no issues recommending them.

I know all the top guys personally and they were very helpful anytime I needed to register lots of domains. I remember back in the day I asked them to check every two letter .com and .ca in front of the word Canada. They wrote a custom script and I picked up almost 500 domains that way.

    It's been a sh*tshow for me.

I sold a domain on NP which was at enom. My account got migrated to hover about a month ago and their site says there's no way to push a domain other than contacting support (!).

I contact support and they say that the buyer's account has still not been migrated to hover. I asked what I should do and support stopped responding. It's been days and no response. I've also contacted enom and no response from them for 2 days.

I guess I'm gonna have to pay for the transfer but this is certainly not my fault. This migration has been handled unprofessionally. I still can't believe you can't push or transfer a domain yourself.

Offtopic question: anyone knows how to acquire a name from Tucows' Realnames (or at least contact them)? Their mailboxes respond with "sorry but we are full, can't take your email".

Our business domain is with Enom for 10 years. Expiration is 2024.

Today we received the same email that our Enom account will be migrated to Hover.

    We have 2 options:
Option 1: Do nothing an continue with Hover
    Option 2: Transferring to GoDaddy

What would you guys do to minimize the risk?

NOTE: Risk means to not be able to access and control the domain which potentially can be a business killer

Hover is a reputable company and part of Tucows, there is no risk.
If your business depends on it just let them do what they need to because it will be seamless.

Transferring to godaddy might cause a day or so of issues as things migrate whereas with enom/hover that will probably not be an issue.

Personally, I would just let it sit.

Enom has been handling transfers wonderfully for me for the past year, but no one can guarantee that this changeover to Hover will be "seamless" or problem-free.

It was seamless when they went from Domain Direct to Hover

I noticed zero down time, one would expect no less this time.

You may not be aware of Enom's software issues, that continue.

No issues with the hover software though, it's pretty rock solid, I still have a domain there.
The problem is on the enom end and always was, that is why they are doing away with it.

Namecheap is independent ICANN-accredited registrar, as I know.
They act as eNom reseller in cases when eNom prices from Registries are better than their own.

    Ask at opensrs.com
All TUCOWS resellers are managed there.

Not sure it's the right contact, Realnames is directly under Tucows and their email is @tucows.com, but I'll try them.

Right contact, opensrs - primary platform of TUCOWS.
All their business depends on it.

But if Enom has software issue, it may also be risky to transfer to a third party. I spoke to customer support of Hover. They say the migration has been going on for months. Most issues were login and credential related. "Not loosing domains".

One of the few registers in company with moniker, and network solutions that makes you wait 5 days for transfer outs, with no express out options.

Enom has a lot of old accounts, NameJet names, their platform is outdated, and over patched, looks like the enom brand is a dinosaur like moniker, to many other better companies to bother with it.

Hi, I have a quick question since your Enom account has got migrated completely to Hover, did they place 60 days transfer lock on your domains, which has been moved from Enom to Hover?

I guess not, since they suggested me to initiate a transfer out to enom, although enom might be an exception because of the migration.

My relationship with Enom was suspended the day they parted way with Namejet. Their restrictions on some geographical location made it very difficult to do business with them.
