Let's talk about the domains that got away. We've all had that moment: a domain we thought was "meh" at the time, or just forgot to renew, only to see it snatched up by an end-user later .....
Has anyone here experienced a domain they let expire, only to see it become a successful end-user site?
What was the domain, and what made you regret letting it go?

This is not the story I expected when I thread "end-user snaps."

Anyway, you need to hold for a few years to get clients. Because most clients are smart enough to wait to see if it gets renewed after the first year.

I thought this was a shoulda coulda registered post, I remember seeing HistoryVault.com on the drop and didn't grab it while available. Found that A&E snapped it up shortly after. I regret selling names for a small profit to see them be flipped for larger sums. I don't recall seeing any expired domains developed, just registered by other sellers.
