Today I signed up for the EFTY 30-day trial to test the look and landing page customization feastures. I already have a portfolo on another site. I was just curious what other domainers have done to see what features are available etc. I did notice it did not automatically upload my .TV domains but it did look at WHOIS to find most of the others - even those which were expired. I decided to "not publish" most of the Spanish domains on this EFTY site. Anyone have some examples....

Thanks doron.in love with efty too much so one last request ...adding keyword tags for the domain search would improve the search system a lot , if I search tech it just shows the words starts with tech ...there is actually lot of more tech names I can show to my customer, so if I can add the tags it would be great.

Adding tags is a nice idea (which I personally like a lot too) so it's something I will make sure we will look into.

Is it possible to add my own page title, page description and custom text to each domain name?

The page title and page description will be based on what you fill in under Header Title and Intro text under Settings > Efty Market. You can add a custom text for each domain name yes. You can do so by opening the domain within your Efty account, clicking Edit and then add a custom description under the Marketing tab. Here's an example of a domain with a custom text: http://www.namerockstar.com/domain/Vibrand.com/

Now I setup my account and setup a custom domain to it which is Brandzo(.)com and then all my domains all set to point to the Efty NS. Why arent my domains pointing to Brandzo/domainname url? instead its the domainname.com directly.

If you want your domains to redirect to yourmarketplace.com/domain then you have to forward them. If you use our nameservers you will get individual For-Sale landing pages such as the ones in my signature below.

But thats almost impossible to do in bulk with a registrar right? I forwarded 1800 names yesterday as a test, to do it using your method I will have it to do it individually for each domain?
Also, I will need to keep the registrar's NS in place right? or can I use yours alongside the forwarding?

Yes, that's a hideous task but that's the only way to do it - you can't forward a domain to another url by changing the name servers. Not with Efty, or anywhere else. Personally, I prefer to use the individual For-Sale landing pages and include a link from there to my marketplace (this will also help with SEO for your marketplace because it will get a ton of backlinks). You can do this under Settings > Profile. You can also easily change the default For-Sale landing page theme under Settings > Efty Market (scroll to the bottom). Let me know if you need any help with this.

I could very well be misunderstanding the scenario, but would NameServer.io work for this?

I have yet to use NameServer.io myself so I'm really not sure. @JudgeMind recommended it to me.

Good share Grilled. Looks like this service can help out with mass forwarding of domains. I haven't tried it myself however so if anyone can share experiences with it that would be nice.

Not for now but we know it's been much requested so it's something we're definitely consider adding to our roadmap in the near future. Right now we are busy designing coding a large number of new For-Sale landing pages that will hit the theme gallery very soon!

Here's a teaser (just one of the many new designs):

Your landing pages look awesome and I’d like to give them a try. A while back I set up a few domains so I was able to direct them to an Afternic landing page but I still was able to create a custom email on the domains. (using my own hosting account). Can I do something similar with your Efty service? For example, if someone types in Domain1.com my Efty landing page should resolve but I want to be able to create and use the email [email protected] via Hostgator. Is this possible with Efty? If yes, can you explain how (it’s been years since I set this up with Afternic and I’ve forgotten how I did but I think the “A Record” had something to do with it.

It depends on your email host. The only thing Efty needs for your For-Sale landing pages to resolve is that the name servers point to us. So if your email host just uses MX records (for example) it's not a problem at all.

Just a question for guys in the know.

I am testing out Afternic with my domains using BIN prices so I get all the visibility. Although I also love EFTY too, and am considering going back to it fully.

Question is, is getting the extra visibility with Afternic's partnership program likely to yield more sales vs using my own site (in Efty).

Only been testing afternic for a few weeks, had a couple of sales but nothing amazingly high. With efty I aslo had a few sales too. Trying to decide what to do.

BTW @Doron Vermaat I loved the look of Efty, you done a great job so far.

Thanks for the kind words. It's much appreciated. You don't have to use Afternic's landers to benefit from their partner network reach. Personally I use Efty For-Sale landing pages for all my domains and have all my names listed with Afternic (and other non-exclusive marketplaces such as Sedo and Flippa).

Hey @Doron Vermaat ,

Could you consider letting us add not only custom categories, but also edit the category pages, by being able to add custom h1\heading tags and custom description text.

Thanks :)

I am liking the marketplace pages and I may also use nameserver.io to use those as landers rather than the default landers. Giving it a try today, not sure if I have to use the {{TLD}} on the end of the string though, will know in a few hours I guess.

This would be difficult considering how categories are soon going to be linked to landers (there will be one for each category!) but allowing users to add their own categories is something we will look into for sure.

Let us know how you get on with that. If it works this might be a very useful tool for others looking to do the same.

How to mass forward domains to Efty with Nameserver.io

Go to Nameserver.io and simply type the following in the "Where to redirect" field:

http://YourMarketplaceName.com/domain/{{DOMAIN}}

You only replace the blue text with your marketplace name, the red text you leave as is (do not put your target domain instead of {{DOMAIN}}, it will be replaced automatically by Nameserver.io).

An example for Doron's marketplace: http://NameRockstar.com/domain/{{DOMAIN}}

After adding this to the field, you'll get 2 custom nameservers which you can add to all your domains at your registrar (bulk nameserver change is not a problem for most registrars). That's it. All domains will redirect to their exact efty page.

You can mass forward as many domain names as you like with this method.

It would be a nice option to have to simply select whether your domain goes to it's own lander or the lander on your marketplace. I imagine it wouldn't take too much work to add this to the Efty NS set-up, so maybe we might see this in future?

NO joy yet, I changed the nameserver yesterday and normally on GoDaddy the changes are real quick. I have forwarded some of my names manually for now until the changes kick in and confirmed working.
