Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

Does anybody else wonder what type of sweetheart deal it.com is bribing dynadot to position .it.com domains 1st in the search?

Just reeks of paid promotion (without actually labelling it as paid promotion) positing a crap third-level-domain in the front of top-level-domains, and burying the available .com as if .it.com the best option... LoL!

Who's dynadot trying to fool here? April is over!!!

For best domainer registrar of the year multiple years running, Dynadot sure does have a nogood-terrible-bad-reallybad-JustPlainAwful search... seemingly whored out to the highest registry bidder... Dynadot looks like they'd rather sell an it.com registration than selling a premium .com.

Dynadot search without specifying tld
Wow.

I actually came to the thread this morning to say how happy (and surprised) I was to see we have the option to toggle off the Trust Pilot score. But...

I just entered a name I have registered with Dynadot, it is for sale on Dynadot, it is using Dynadot landers and it has a BIN price. The freaking name comes up 5th on the list when searching the exact name (without extension specified during search).

What is the 'it' crap that comes up first? As you say, there is obviously some kind of incentive being paid or TH owns the 'it'...I care not, either way.

Also, when renewing names that have gone into expired status, the only option for the name owner to do is check each name AFTER the renewal has been completed. Dynadot still operates with its typical efficiency when processing/renewing, but names pointed to Bodis that have been removed from the domainers account, may or may not show properly. In my case, they still remained in the Dynadot account and the landers still had the renewal banner warning showing.

Oh well...just want to thank @Caleb Tweed for getting us the option to remove the TrustPilot rating (I will be happy to add it back once it gets to 4.5 or higher).

@Dynadot Would you be kind enough to answer the ticket #19184? You are completely ignoring it even though it was created on November 1st. It is over a month. I have opened another ticket where I also expressed my dissatisfaction for ignoring the ticket #19184 but you still didn't even say you were going to check it.

Hey, I'll have my team respond to the ticket ASAP. Sorry for the delay there!

That's surprising that an exact match shows that low on it, was this including the TLD ?

Our team works on different marketing initiatives with the registries, so you might see a change in TLD order over time.

We're having our team look into the Bodis issue still. If the name is using Bodis' CNAMEs it should show up back in the account, it's just using NS is having some issues at the moment.

Appreciate it :). Glad I was able to get that rolling finally. (almost there, 4.3 at the moment and rising!)

I have been requesting something for a long time but the back-end team is avoiding doing it for some reason.

I don't want to receive "Auction Ends in ..." and "Outbid notice for ..." email notifications. They take up unnecessary space in my inbox and I have to delete dozens of them every day.

I think adding a simple checkbox to the account settings page will solve the problem.

Hi @Caleb Tweed

Is there any development on this feature?

I think the team was hesitant at first

I wonder why they were hesitant.

I follow all auction platforms on the web browser and frankly, the emails that come one after another during rush hours do nothing but cause confusion and extra workload on my side.

I don't see any harm in giving a simple on/off setting to the user's initiative. Moreover, with this option, there is a slight decrease in server load and these notifications can reach those who need them more quickly.

When searching, all I entered was the name...for example: 'dynadot' without any extension (no .com, no .ai, no .org, etc)

Roughly the same thing as happened here:

I think the main worry was just if someone accidentally clicked it and then they all of a sudden never saw their auctions, but we came to an agreement along your point. More options the user can have, the better!

Ah I see. So for exact matches, we will for sure rocket the domain right to the top. However if the TLD is not included, it gets more difficult who to prioritize for user auction listings if multiple users list the same name with a different TLD, etc.

I see your point though, I'll talk with the team if we can highlight user listings in the search a bit more if we can!

I appreciate you elevating the issue.

It would be nice if preference could be give if a name is registered thru Dynadot...especially if that name is for sale on the Dynadot marketplace. It would be a good marketing tool for you to present to portfolio holders considering what is happening at Godaddy.

By having a name regged at Dynadot AND by using the Dynadot marketplace, you would guarantee the portfolio holder that the listing would come up at the top of any search results (insert mike drop here).

u is the dude who made public promises to tell bodis to auto move back to our account expired names we renew and which u never should have greedily dns confiscated to begin with
I am the dude. I like to think I follow through on most promises I make.

The issue has been resolved. Your domains should no longer leave your Bodis account upon expiry. Anyones domains that have will still need to have Bodis return them to their account, but it will not happen any longer. Thanks for your patience while we worked this out.

@Caleb Tweed, how long does it take after a domain has expired for the Dynadot system to stop forwarding to its Bodis account?

I renewed a name, decided to update the parking preferences, and it still pointed to Bodis. From my end, it had been on Dynadot sales page.

Does it take and update on Dynadot servers? I assume this happens nightly.

Mr. Dude 😎

Do nameservers still change to Bodis at day 1 of expiration?

-- still eagerly waiting on an update to that in the other thread.

I do see the point in that other Registrars may be a bit more lenient when exactly the NS stop working and monetization starts, I will discuss with our team how we can address/potentially change that.

At the moment it still redirects to parking day 1, adding a grace period after deletion is something we haven't had before so it might take a bit to get that off the ground successfully. If I am able to work something out, I'll update asap!

So if the domain is renewed, it will point away instantly from our parking page, but it might just take a bit for propagation of the servers to take place (and your browsers cache may be showing old data on the domain).

If you have one that's been on for more than 48 hours (Very rare, but the max time propagation can take) and still directs to our parking page, there may be an issue with the new servers you're pointing to. If you're unsure about a specific domain not loading, please dm me the name and I can investigate!
