Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

Dynadot is an ICANN accredited domain name registrar and web host headquartered in San Mateo, California. The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Yes this is a freshly launched feature! The Reseller Hold works as a Registrar hold that the reseller has access to if need be. What this means is that the Reseller can put this hold on their domain and prevent the domain from propagating/being transferred.

This is mostly for dispute purposes if the Reseller has a domain they manage and they need to disable it right away due to an ICANN complaint or something similar.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you need more clarification on this. (The feature is only for Reseller Accounts so if your account is not a reseller no need to worry about it!)
Okay, thanks for clearing that up. That is good to know.

Hi Caleb! @calebdynadot

I am wondering what is the point of removing ''Afternic'' and ''Sedo'' icons out of the main tab - from across the names? With different tlds, and rather large portfolios you can't say now which names are selling with whom, and earlier you could. Was an awesome thing, see absolutely no point in removing it. Or at least you can make it optional for those who want it (like me).

Another thing that would be cool to fix - when you change price in bulk for Dynadot landing pages, the text (and other things like installments) gets deleted for all the names involved. Then you have to go and write a text for each name separately. It just should stay intact in the first place.

Thanks!

Hello,

This will actually be changed back to normal after our next server-restart, so you should see the Afternic and Sedo Icons re-appear after that! Sorry for the inconvenience there!

I'll let my team know to see if we can change that, Thanks for letting me know!

The domain names I've won on auctions WHOIS information does not update after the transfer to my account and they still show this wrong data:

Makefile:
Admin Name: Pending Renewal or Deletion
Admin Street: PO Box 701
Admin City: San Mateo
Admin State/Province: CA
Admin Postal Code: 94401
Admin Country: US
Admin Phone: +1.6502620100
Admin Email: [email protected]

This is big no-no for me as a domain investor since the potential buyers will think that this name is not active and they cannot contact me.

How long after the purchase is this? I've purchased domains on their auctions and the WhoIs updated correctly.
Edit: I assume you're talking about a Dynadot Auction?

Yes, they're from Dynadot auctions.

Some have been 1-2 weeks. Some of them are still not showing my WHOIS information even though it had been a few months. I recently became aware of the situation.

Strange. I'm sure @calebdynadot will be able to get it sorted for you.

Hi Everyone,

We’re very excited to announce the launch of our Open Marketplace! This means that you can list your domain from any Registrar on Dynadot’s Marketplace and take advantage of our competitive 10% commission from anywhere!

To ensure all listings are active and available, we require users to verify either with TXT or CNAME DNS, or with our Name Servers. (Note: Only domains using our Name Servers can use our For Sale Landing Page)

Here is how to list your domain on our Open Marketplace:
https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/open-marketplace

Also, Domains must both be eligible for transfer (Not Registered in the past 60 days), and the TLD must be supported by Dynadot. You can see the full list of TLDs we support here: https://www.dynadot.com/domain/tlds-prices

Once you’ve sold a domain and your account has been credited, you can choose to Payout right away with no Payout Fee! You can check out our updated Payout Policy here: https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/payout-policy
Alternatively, you can convert your funds to Dynadot account balance to use toward future purchases and save 2% off our commission!

Best of Luck selling your domains! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Caleb

I have not taken a look yet, but was wondering how the process of listing/selling goes.

Do the names have to be listed with a BIN price only or can we have a min offer...do we (domain seller) have access to the IP address the lead originated from?

Sorry for basic questions but I've not been pleased with some 'brokers' handling my names and would rather handle things myself. Thanks for providing another marketplace!

No worries! You can list the domain with either BIN, Make Offer, or both! At this time we don't provide the IP the lead came from.

Okay, thanks for the reply.

I'll do a deep dive over the weekend and check it all out. I will admit I'm not sure if you have brokers involved on your end or not...if the answer is not, that is great for me. One of your competitors has a few very awesome 'brokers' but I'm finding that some are less than stellar.

If I have access to name, addy and ip address, I can determine the quality of the inquiry and act/price accordingly. I'm glad Dynadot has made this available...in the next two months (assuming we get a transfer code) the majority of my names will be using Dynadot services...in a year, it will have 90% of them (unless Godaddy sobers up and lowers the cost of DDC!?!).

For these types of sales there are no brokers involved, the domain is listed and sold directly through our marketplace.

We do have a brokerage service called our "Make an Offer" service though, and our brokers can connect you with Domain owners at Dynadot and abroad! If you see a domain in our search bar that's taken, hit the "Make an Offer" button and our team will connect you with the owner for discussion of purchasing the domain.

Who pays for a domain transfer if the domain was purchased on the Dynadot marketplace, but is located at another registrar?

Great question! The transfer fee will be paid by the buyer when the purchase is successful.
