I made my first domain transfer.

Question

Am I under a 60 day lock before I can list the domain for sale?

I contacted Porkbun support they weren't 100% positive. They said maybe I should wait just to prevent any delays if the domain sold.

I looked at ICAAN.

There are some circumstances under which a registrar must deny a transfer request, and some circumstances where the registrar has the option to deny a transfer.

Your registrar may deny a transfer request in the following limited circumstances:

Evidence of fraud
Reasonable dispute over the identity of the person authorizing the transfer
Domain name is on hold due to payment owed for a previous registration period (including credit card charge-backs)
Express written objection from the domain name holder
Domain name is in "Lock" status (Registrars must provide a readily accessible and reasonable means for name holders to remove the lock status. Contact your registrar for assistance.)
Domain name is within 60 days of initial registration
Domain name is within 60 days of a previous transfer <----- Does this apply to me?

Thanks for reaching out. While you should still be able to list a domain that's still within the 60-day transfer wait period for sale, there may be delays if a buyer purchases the domain and is then awaiting delivery of it. I would recommend waiting for the 60 days to elapse before listing the domain for sale to avoid that kind of inconvenience for the buyer.

The domain now resolves to the landing page.

When I now turn off domain lock it doesn't say.

Sedo confirmed it's Porkbuns discretion whether they choose to hold the domain for 60 days.

Generally it's the Registry and their ICANN contract that decides on the time-periods regarding transfers since registration, previous transfer, renewal and update.

Whilst there are provisions in some tlds for a gaining registrar to still pay the registry for an inbound transfer within a protected time-window most will not lt as you dont get the additional year added.

Unless the rules have changed, generally:

1) You can't transfer a domain from one registrar to another if under 60 day lock. The lock applies to domains that are new registrations or have been transferred.
2) You usually can push a domain to an account that is within the same registrar, regardless if it fresh reg or transfer from somewhere else.

Sedo is a marketplace, not a domain registrar. There is no direct DNS management through Sedo.
