Domain Transfer Lock Status

Dear Me,

We wanted to confirm with you that Domain Transfer Lock has been turned off for the domain name registrations (nsWebAddress™) listed below:

Account Number: XXXXXXXX

Domains

Turning Domain Transfer Lock off removes an extra layer of protection against an unauthorized transfer of your domain name registration(s).

  • When turned on, Domain Transfer Lock provides protection from "domain hijackers" or others who may illegally attempt to transfer your domain name registration.
  • With Domain Transfer Lock on you can still perform legal name changes and consolidate or move domain names between Network Solutions® accounts.
If you intend to transfer this domain name please call Network Solutions at 1-888-642-9675 to request assistance from a transfer specialist.

Once again, thank you for choosing Network Solutions®. We are committed to providing the best solutions, services, and support to help you succeed online.

Sincerely,

Do you have to call to get the transfer codes now?

does "hard to transfer" domains equate to "hard to steal" domains?

.....
by phone they will just try to talk you into still keeping the domain with them and get a lower renewal fee offer..

what was the lower renewal fee they offered?

Not really, if you can hijack the E-mail address of the domain holder you are good to go.

Usually, it's $10 for a .com

Transfer out your domains even if they offer lower renewals, use Godaddy coupon or transfer to somewhere else where things are easy to do rather than waiting for few days for EPP code to be arrived.

Their support sucks as well. You have to open a new ticket just to reply on an old ticket. Which makes it extremely difficult to keep track of a conversion. So open a ticket on a friday, wait at least two working days, get a reply on Monday (which invariable doesn't resolve your question), open up another ticket on Monday, wait another 2 days until Wednesday, if that reply still doesn't answer your question, open up another ticket on Wednesday, get a reply on Friday, hopefully that answers your question. I'm not kidding about this. It's really really ugly. Probably the ugliest support I have ever encountered, apart from no reply at all. Add this to all their other shady practises and they're not a registrar you'd want to do business with, ever. I only have expired auction wins from SnapNames there and transfer them out when the 60 days are up.

I did a calculation once from their ticket numbers. From memory, they get about 300k tickets a day.
