Do shortnames have SEO advantage?

Obviously short namesare better for type in traffic. Are they given favor by the search engines aswell?

As mentioned by other members, short domain names do not affect your ranking or SEO. But, short domains are preferred since they are usually easier to remember and type.

Google specifically stated that "The algorithm used for search result is RICH CONTENT, KEYWORDS AND FRIENDLY URL" Short url is given preference over long url.

Funny, long urls do rank in the serps ahead of short urls.
Length of url really does not matter any more.
