Hi Alcy,

There are no plans with regards to changing the commission. You can expect the same service and the same team to assist you.
Making a note of this post for future reference.

I suppose we should be asking GD but the chances of getting a straight answer are probably quite slim.

I have the following problem and reported it to Dan.com. I am curious if others are also having this problem.

I get "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUTERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" when refreshing a parking page (domain names parked with A record 52.58.78.16) or if I open parking pages at the same time (it doesn't matter if it is my parking page or someone else’s. names using ns1 and ns2 do not have this problem). After this error also homepage of Dan.com not working. After a while it works fine but when I do the samething it doesn't work again. This happens on my home network and mobile network (tried with diffirent ip’s from the Netherlands). If I connect via vpn I don't have this problem. I have tried via 2 pc's with 2 different browsers and on phone also 2 browsers (caches also cleared).

On DAN's recommendation in this thread, I've enabled LTO for most of my domains.

Recently, I asked this wonderful community for input on Lease-to-own amounts; specifically, at what low monthly amount there is a greater chance of not getting paid.

Well, right away with my first LTO I now have the experience that the second installment has already been delayed by 5 days (monthly amount of EUR 830). DAN told me that they have a "grace period" of one week, during which they'll send the buyer multiple reminders. After that, DAN will call the buyer.

The LTO contract states that the agreed payment dates are “firm”.

Not a great first LTO experience so far. Let's see how this turns out.

The LTO installment contract states the following:

"For example: when a transaction is initiated on the 3rd of January 2018, the second payment deadline will be the 3rd of February 2018. The third payment deadline will be on the 3rd of March 2018. These payment periods constitute firm deadlines."

I am sure it says firm deadlines to discourage deadbeats but yeah it could be handled better like a late fee for example.

Anyone else missing emails being sent by Dan? Also, their bot isn't picking up on finished transfers.

I was wondering why receiving a payment was taking this long, which is uncommon, and they ask me to verify a transfer which was completed past Friday.
I have a transaction completed 15 days ago and the payment still hasn't been received.

Have you already discussed this with support? What are they saying about this?

This has never happened in the past, and my receiving bank account manager has not inquired about the payment. Dan Transfer Specialist told me to wait, they gave me the payment slip and didn't tell me why. They didn't give me a reasonable explanation.

Good morning @Future Sensors,

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

The deadlines are fixed. If you wish to terminate an agreement after that is missed, you are always free to do so. However, our account managers will always give an estimate on how likely payment will come through and recommend based on that.

Have a great day.

Thanks! I just saw this, and truth be told it may increase sales on BIN landers and all around.

Many people, 1st time buyers still may not know/heard of Dan.

But GoDadday sure they have.
1st time buyers may fell more comfortable checking out.

I think looks reassuring on my bin page to be honest.

Cheers

Good afternoon @LaszloSchenk

Thanks for the additional clarification. The second installment should have been paid by the buyer on Friday, July 8th. I have now informed DAN Support that if payment has not been received from the buyer tomorrow, Friday July 15th, I'd like to terminate the LTO installment contract for this domain. The buyer has then been given a reasonable additional grace period of 7 days.

@LaszloSchenk

When an LTO buyer has failed to meet its installment obligations, is this somehow tracked by DAN to prevent this from happening again by the same entity in the future, with other (LTO) domain transactions?

Good morning,

No, we do not track buyers terminating LTO agreements. The reason why is any terminated agreement means all previously paid terms are basically yours to keep, and the domain is returned to you. If a buyer returns again to buy the same domain, you, as the owner will earn more than initially anticipated.

Have a nice weekend ahead.

Make offer is the best way to work for me with Dan, I recently changed all my domains to Price Request with zero price request till now, did any of you see any increase in sales from this option?

I haven't had any issue with them. All the small sales I've been making there are paid within 24 hours. Their customer service team is the best in the industry. Dan's an extremely professional team.

I was only skeptical about the GoDaddy acquisition but there's no problem whatever. Their quality delivery is still the same.

Will @DAN.COM consider adding "Godaddy good as gold" as a payout option?

Good morning @Zorg,

We do not have any information on any such changes yet. However, we will always make sure to update all users in case any such significant changes take place.

Have a nice day!

Good morning @Future Sensors,

No, we do not actively track it. The reason being, the domain is returned to an owner once a buyer defaults. All previous payments made are yours to keep. If you can resell the domain name to the same buyer with the same terms, you basically get profits than initially anticipated. If a buyer decides to mis a deadline again, the domain is simply returned to you. The main advantage is that you are earning on the domain name for multiple months while otherwise the domain was left listed for sale while no income was generated.

All the best,

As you've probably noticed, that was indeed how it happened with this LTO domain. Buyer was 'upset' that the LTO contract was terminated, but after a new negotiation (and payment), they now own the domain in full and have transferred it away from metaregistrar to another.

Well, I guess there will always be a group of LTO buyers that's getting 'upset', even after given a reasonable grace period for making the payment...

I'm looking forward to the next LTO experience.
