@LaszloSchenk When a lead is handed over to MediaOptions and I would like to send the broker a message in the existing message thread, who all sees it?

Is it just the broker or both the broker and the seller?
Since it is just one thread I don't want the seller to see what I have to say to the broker.

Once a lead is handed over to Media Options, any and all messages sent during that negotiation will only be visible to Media Options. The seller will not be able to see the correspondence.

How can you change the background color of your User Icon (the one with the 2 letters in it - DS for Domain Seller by default) that appears on each lander?

Mine has a horrible piss-yellow color and I see others with cool greens and blues that look a LOT better. What's the secret or it is random and I'm stuck at the urinal?

P.S. I know I can upload a custom image, but I am just concerned with the default color of the user icon background and how to possibly switch it.

You cannot change the default color allocated to the User Icon. This is generated automatically. The only option to bypass this indeed is adding the custom image.

So just to be clear, when you first sign up to Dan, you're assigned a specific color and that cannot ever be changed? i.e a Color for Life.

Is this going to ever be an option in settings?

Hate to be the font of Dan questions today, but this is another situation new-to-me.

I have an outside lead with a set purchase price - I know it's a 5% fee and have the process from the website, but...

How is the 5% paid?

A) Can it be set for the buyer to pay for on top of the set purchase price (which would be the easiest mathematically) or

B) Does the seller pay it and need to work the numbers and add on the 0.0526315 needed to get the original pre-commission price, and ask the buyer to pay that.

In the first case, if the price as $5,000 I would input $5,000 as the price and 5% would be added, but in the second case it would need to be $5263, to include the 5% fee off the total amount, thereby leaving the seller with $5,000.

I received the answer back from Dan support and it's "Case #2" as illustrated above. Seller pays all fees, so if the buyer is to pay for escrow, you need take the calculator out and up the amount by 0.0526315 (or just multiply the sales price by 1.0526315).

That is correct. This is why every user is free to upload their own image to make sure they decide their look and presentation.

We do not have any plans yet for deciding your own color as you already have the option to upload your own image. However, I will relay the feedback to our product team for you.

I would appreciate that, as some people just do not like certain colors, or the color does not work with their chosen background, and simply do not have the need or the ability to create and upload custom images.

It's weird how the moment you sign up to Dan, the system assigns you a "Color For Life" - kind of the opposite of the flexibility most UI systems offer.

And I like the generic User Icons and have no need for specific graphics, I just HATE the color yellow, so I have attempted to emulate the default image in a darker blue JPG, but it's still a bit off in terms of image quality. It's was a bit of work in terms of image sizing & spacing, but that's how much I hate a yellow User Icon, especially against a harsh black background.

@DAN.COM Will the new Price Request feature save the pricing within our Dashboard? Or will it remove the Price field if we choose the Price Request option? (I'd hate to have to look up the price somewhere else every time someone requests a price.) Also, do you have a date when this will be released? Thanks.

The messages posted about this situation are completely based on assumptions. We have stated we are working on it and have acted accordingly. However, we will not remove any user from the platform blindly when someone requests us to do this. We have a multi-layer checking process to perform before any such action is taken.

We receive the same request to remove sellers from our platform, from buyers as well. They claim a domain is theirs for example and urge us to remove any users listing their domain for sale. For these instances, we also have checks to perform before action is taken.

To give you some insurances, the domains of the seller involved in this situation have been removed today. That being said, we will no longer attend to similar inquiries through Namepros. The initial chat you have had with Aleksandra would have sufficed to get this sorted.

Like i said this guy has 200,000 of 6 mil names on marketplace. I would say he is getting benefits but 4 sales with 200,000 name portfolio shows that quality over quantity is key.

So I came to an agreement with a buyer who wants to use escrow, so I added a lead transaction to Dan, I got a confirmation, but it's not showing up anywhere in my account/dashboard/leads/transactions/etc.

Anyone know the process here as this is first time I've used Dan for escrow.

Just wait, ypur buyer must receive an email and the lead or transaction will be created once he accepts it

Oh-freaking-no, for your 5% fee all you get is a Dan Bot regurgitating canned responses, and without even the option of contacting a human broker like on a 9% transaction. I only get "We think this domain is still locked" and "Could you inform us where the domain is currently registered".

This is a "push" transaction as the company wants it ASAP, and I am not sure how to proceed. As they've paid and are now asking me where the domain is, I may just go ahead and push it to their account, as I could be playing this Dan Bot game forever.

Live and learn - 5% at Dan gets you a hearty handshake and a few well wishes.

It only ensures transfers are sped up and many transactions can still be concluded while our transfer team is offline. It has nothing to do with a transaction being imported or processed at a 9% commission. If manual interference is needed it will be attended to by our transfer team upon their return the next morning.

What I mean by that is in every one of my standard transactions at Dan, there is an option to "type in 'Broker Name' and speak to a broker" whereas here there is no such notation and it's just me and the Dan Bot. I have used this "contact broker" option in the past with non-standard domain transactions (this is a push due the company not wanting to wait a few weeks) and the broker replied relatively quickly.

This recent imported lead/transaction was also completed yesterday afternoon, and the domain is now in the client's account but I'm still looking at a set of canned questions from the Dan Bot.

How exactly do I get a broker involved to close off this transaction?

This is possible when manual interference is required. The chat box will open for you to leave messages for a transfer specialist. However, in most cases, the usage of the bot will make due to ensure fast delivery.

Native English AND Chinese speaker here.

先租后买 translates word for word, literally as "first rent later buy", put into a more sensible order in English, "Rent first, buy later"

分期付款 translates word for word, literally as "split date pay cash/bill", put into a more sensible phrase in English, "Pay by installment".
