Contacting end users - Is it spam?

For those folks who market to end users, have you had any problems being reported as a spammer? I am thinking 50-100 well targetted emails for a particular domain and adding something in there along the lines of:

"You were chosen to receive this email because this domain is highly relevant to your business. This email is not from a mailing list, if you reply with questions you will get a response and if you are simply not interested please excuse the interruption to your day and you will not hear from us again."

What do you think? Necessary? Too wordy? There's nothing to stop them reporting you as spam anyway as technically it really is unsolicited commercial email.

I think as long as you put it nice and proffesionally and the DN is somehow relevant to the person recieving the e-mail you will be fine. I myself am not too worried about it, I've only done it once to about 100 people but recieved no complaints.

Good Luck

I use something similiar to yours and it has worked so far, I make my sales pitch first and then toss a few lines below that explaining something similiar to what you have posted. As long as the email is customized to each buyer and professional looking you should be fine.
