Contacting End Users Via Snail Male. Any Tips?

I know that there is a sticky thread right above with tons of tips in it. I've read through it entirely, but found that most of the tips applied to email and not snail mail.

So any tips when contacting end users via snail mail? I know that the format and tone of the letter will have to be a lot more formal than an email, but any other specific tips?

Also, would you say that a fax is as good as a snail mail, or should one stick to only one of the two mediums?

I like your enthusiasm sashas. I think you should try faxing as well as snail mail. Some methods might better than others. Who knows unless you try.

Here is a good techique that worked with me

I'm an end user.

One domainer looked who was spending the most money advertising keywords tied to the domain on Google and Yahoo. They then send out an email mentioning this fact and asking if I was interested.

I didn't buy the domain, but I did respond and give it strong consideration. They wanted $50K. If they had wanted $10K, it would have been sold.

They also put the domain name in the subject line.

It was an effective technique IMHO

Be short and sweet. Include the domain on the Outside of the envelope. Give clear contact info.

One better, don't even send an envelope, so they see the info when they look at it. Do the mailing on some nice thick cardstock.

thanks for the info guys

Now I might sound very naive (in fact, I AM naive about this), but how exactly do you search the top paying advertisers for a keyword? I've never used adwords before so have no clue.

I've actually sent out a of mails with my offer, but haven't received any significant responses. I don't really believe my name is bad and has a very wide variety of uses. But still no luck

When you do a blind mailing, it's like trying to sell a car to somebody not looking for one.

9 times out of 10, your mail is going to somebody that did not wake up in the morning, and say, I'm going to buy a domain today.

It's all in your sales pitch, to get a bite. So even though your domain might be Stunning, doesn't mean they will see the value in it. It is very clear that most end users have no idea what a domain name is worth. cough * cough *... Cowboys.

Type in a keyword in Google.com related to your domain and you'll see advertisers on your right hand side and on top as well in some cases.

Note them all down and click the "More Sponsored Links »" link and go through the pages, you'll encounter actual companies but also non-companies.

Research what you have gathered and go from there.

You can't really say for certain who are the advertisers who pay the most money as quality score is a big factor to determine the bids what advertisers pay.

But you will be able to compile a potential end user list.

I tried using a male snail for this once. the problem was he wanted 25% of the sale. I would definitely steer clear of male snails.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist. And this is by no means an attempt to make fun of the OP. All in good fun.)

And don't forget spelling and grammar are important. I receive an awful lot of mail and faxes and anything that looks like it was written by an idiot goes straight into the bin.
