Change the top domains forum...

I have been looking for a solid domain name for a project I'm working on and am getting increasingly frustrated with the selection of domains in the top forum.

90% of them are not premium. 10% are premium but fit into other forums (liquid, etc.). It is of my opinion, that top domains should be voted on by the community not moderated in some nonsensical way. I'm not saying you're an idiot for picking them, I'm saying you're clearly biased to short names and those with development "potential."

I would suggest adding a feature that allows people to click <3 on a post if they think it's a top domain. After so many votes, it goes to moderation. This process would eliminate individuals who try to game the system and would also eliminate the insanity of the current selection.

I could give examples but would prefer to not throw someone random under the bus. I'm sure I am not the only person who feels this way.

I only submitted a domain ages ago, been rejected and don't think I ever visited that forum since then.

I've had a look today after seeing your post, man that's a joke!

Not sure who's in charge with moderation/approval but when you approve NLN or 4 letter .nets or some ccTLD that probably half of the world population never heard of as TOP domains you really have a problem.

Now "top" is defo a relative word and people might see things in different ways but if it's to have only top domains listed in there, that forum shouldn't have more than 10-15 open threads.

Agree that something has to be done however I don't think that public voting is the right solution as it will probably come down to friendships, rubbing shoulders and vote exchanges.

Top Domains has always been at the center of much controversy. Some love the selections, and some disagree with them. It's impossible to please everyone and that's why we've come up with a better idea.

We plan to replace that section soon with something else, but we haven't had time with everything else we're working on.

All in due time.
