I'm in a really difficult situation and need your expertise. My domain was recently moved to auction by Dynadot. Here's the situation:

Timeline:
  • Domain expired 42 days ago.
Current Issues:
  • Dynadot support says it's no longer mine.
  • Nick told me that "It is, unless somebody buys the domain from the expired auctions.
If nobody bought it, you would still have time to restore it."
  • They won't allow standard redemption
  • I am willing to pay recovery and redemption fees Up to $1,000

next time remember to renew in under 20 days.

even 10.

or best.. before they expire

Other domains that expired at the same time are still restorable. I can even restore domains expired on Nov 9, 2024. The only difference is that my domain was put into Dynadot's auction system.

I have a precedent case with GoDaddy where they withdrew a domain in my account from Godaddy auction and provided a refund. Based on this experience, domain recovery should be possible with Dynadot as well. I'm prepared to pay a substantial restoration fee, similar to the GoDaddy case, to reclaim my domain.

gd says in faq if your domain gets bids u lose it. if they took your domain from winner and gave to u it was illegal to.go against their own rules. maybe the winner simply didnt pay?

same for dyna.. if auction gets bid and winner and paid then u lost it. otherwise what's the point people spend time bidding.

next time u will renew earlier

Why not set domains to auto-renew in future?

By the way, I'm offering up to $1,000 as a reward to anyone who can help me successfully recover this domain through their connections.

I'm still able to restore other domains in my account that expired on November 9, 2024. This clearly demonstrates that the regular redemption period is still active.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance in this matter. Thank you in advance

(I am also contacting with ICANN and Todd han in Twitter.)

this has nothing to do with othrt domains cause they had no auction bids

the auction win makes all difference.

there are no connections. and it's not about paying someone
..just about dyna rules... which are same on gd also. so whatever u said.bout getting back expired gd name sold at auction getting back to your account is some misunderstood occurence by u.

u gotta let it go bro. nobody renews names at 42 days. I do it few days aftr expiry and that's already a focking stoopid alcy

I recently received an email (see below) from GoDaddy after winning an auction, and it seems their system is indeed designed to auction off domain names before the 30-day post-expiration period has elapsed. Furthermore, they retain the ability to repossess the domain name during that time frame.

Nobody is going to be able to help you if they don't know the name.

You need to bid on your expired name. Go big or go home.

Hello,

Better than on social media, I would recommend you to check the official ICANN info here:

https://icann-nsp.my.site.com/compliance/s/renewal-redemption

If you have any doubts or need any help, I have found ICANN Global Support a very useful resource. They have kindly assisted me twice recently. Normally, they would not take longer than one working day to reply. Please note they cannot do anything on your behalf, but they will inform you of your options.

You find them here:

https://www.icann.org/en/help/talk-with-someone

Good luck!
Season's Greetings!

Unfortunately, once the renewal period has passed, Dynadot will auction off the domain, and even if the domain is still in your account, you will no longer be able to renew it. You must participate in the auction to get it back. I have done this before, and it was a waste; it shouldn't have happened, but fortunately, I managed to retrieve the domain. If someone else bids for it, it will no longer belong to you. I recommend using Dynadot's watchlist feature (https://www.dynadot.com/account/watchlist.html), which helped me get my domain back. If you miss out, I suggest contacting customer service and trying to hire a broker to purchase it.

Not always, imo.

I am currently aware of several cases where one specific Registrar I cannot name yet has failed to comply with their agreement with ICANN, thus affecting Registrants' rights. OP's may or may not be the case.

Of course I don't expect anyone to take my word only. Once the issue is resolved and I feel it is safe and fair to everyone involved, I will report it fully.
