How to recover my expired domains?

Hi,
I have some domains of which I was unsure whether I should drop them or not.
Now. 2 days after the regular registration period at Moniker, I want the 4 domains to be extended for a year. But as they are .asia domain names, I do not plan to pay Moniker 19,99 USD per DOMAIN and year.
New registrations for .asia-domains are only 5 USD!! I do not plan to pay 4 times that much for extending domain registration!

Somebody told me/have read, that one can transfer the domain to another account, e.g. my GoDaddy account, even when domain is expired, till the redemtion period begins.

AS I understand it, I can transfer my domains out, but how to proceed? What is the fee, if any, which Moniker charges for transferring out to GoDaddy?

Any help is much appreciated.

Kind regards,
SuperMario

Moniker shouldn't charge you anything for transfer outs.

You should check the transfer prices at your destination registrar.

I'll also point out that there's a very big chance you'll be able to reregister them if you let them expire. I'm not sure if anyone still likes .asia at all. Which brings me to my next point, do you really want those?! :)

Hi vc,

thank you for the information on transfer outs.
The new potential registrar GoDaddy has the same rate for transfers than Moniker, for new registrations its only 6,40 EUR, but transfers it's ~15 EUR.

So this leaves option 2: letting them expire and eventually register them new, if I found potential end-users for them.
