I thought that I should share that it appears I have made my first sale at BB. Began the escrow process today.

Very interested to see how smoothly this process goes and hope to have more sales with them in the future.

Would you like to share what name you are about to sell? Would help us newbies to determine if the name we want to reg is good :)

I would honestly like to share with the community - but with this being my first BB sale, and it not being completed, I believe it's probably smart to keep the name private for the time being.

My advice would be to not purchase domains based on one that you saw that sold on BB. Just from looking through resources and the forum - it is apparent that BB sales a wide variety of names and there seems to be very little consistency in the types of names from day to day. I purchase my domains based upon what I determine it's value is, and how large I believe the end user pool to be. I also tend to lean towards keyword domains, if that helps any.

Wish I could share more right now! I will put some thought into rather or not I should disclose the name of this sale or future sales. I know the community is hungry for information and I tend to not mind being an open book.

@michaeljkrell / @margotb - How about letting the domainer approve their domain for publishing? Not to sound like a broken record going back to logo's, but c'mon now, 6L logo's for 5L domains?? :sick:

So not only logo creators are blind like bats but even people who approve logos can't spell.... that's assuming anyone actually bothers to check them before publication.
This is what we pay $10 for?

And no one bothered to fix it - or even acknowledge the mistake.

Remember, they are humans like us. Nothing extraordinary here. I always check my published names and the owner (s) of those names were supposed to so the same.

And I guess you are fine with BB completely ignoring the problem - not a word of explanation (or apology) for many days.

Well Justin you should be responsive to your customer's concerns, and sellers are customers. Namepros is certainly the number one place on the net discussing all things BrandBucket.

Do they have to give in to every seller whim ? No. These errors should be fixed, I would want to know and let my sellers know I am on top of it.

Yes but the ones with genuine concerns would contact BB privately (like I have in the past) not try to ridicule BB in a public forum. It is obvious why they are announcing these errors publically.

Why are you so protective? You love BB so much does BB show you love back by giving you sales?

I dont rely on BB to market my names. I just use BB as a platform to sell. I market my names on my own .

That's a little childish in my opinion.

I agree that I think it would be good for BB if Michael gives a reaction if an issue like this is discussed. However, I also agree that these things can happen. As abdullah stated, it is also up to the buyer to notice the mistake.

I assume michael and margot do not double check every name, so a logo designer can make a mistake. I think it is great that it is spotted here, although I think the pleasure some people seem to get out of a BB mistake is a bit much.

Did the publishing process change? I remember it being a 3 step process, the final step, was having the logo / description / packaging reviewed for publishing (after the designer submitted the logo) Who reviews before publishing if not margot / michael?

I think it is great that it is spotted here, although I think the pleasure some people seem to get out of a BB mistake is a bit much.
