The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
these numbers are not reliable

Anybody can find brandbucket sales data if they wish to. if domains > x that is no longer on site that belongs to a seller then it's not wise to think it sold since we know avg sold domain per user is aroud 3 except for MK. But you can't just overlook MK you must re-verify.
+ many other verifaction you can do. Whoislogy is also useful. The only way to make task impossible is to take the site offline. Or email the buyer and ask smart questions ( if buyer does not offer the domain for sale then 90% chances the domain is sold or if buyer ignores you). I believe (hope) brandbucket would starting publishing sales soon. I have a feeling they will which will be a good news to me becuase task gets costly in the long run.

Also you don't even need to deal with brandbucket site, there is someone that has already done all the heavy lifiting and that is =>Google ;) All webmasters know what happens when they lie to Google.

The actual sales was days or weeks before you get an actual confirmaton.
Well you should be able to tell us when we've had a sale shown on the site before BB informs us so. Feel free to PM me anytime you see one of my names turn to sold.

I wonder how end users search for domain names on BB. I reckon this is the million dollar question. If I was a start up company and visited BB's list of 30K domains that are for sale I don't want to spend hours perusing their data base to pick my ideal domain name.

Surely there must be a quicker way.

Hey Justin,

Most people who visit BB browse the site using the search function. BB tracks these searches and often gives a list of the most popular keyword searches as part of their newsletter to sellers. If you are a BB seller you should get the newsletter automatically. But if not, then send an email to [email protected] and they'll get you on the list and/or send the prior newsletter if you request one.

Another way that customers can further define their search on the BB site is by selecting Invented or Keyword names. They can see also select a drop down menu if they click Refine in the upper right corner. There they can limit their search by the number of letters, the date added or by price range.

Good luck with your domains!

Keith

Could bb explain why
Data/o/matic rejected?

I guess if you get rejected they are doing you a favour. Basically they are saying "save your $10...your name is unlikely to sell".

Don't know their reason, but if I were in their shoes I would have rejected it as well. Despite data being a great keyword, the "ao" makes both the pronunciation, spelling, and memorability of it very difficult for a native English speaker (which I assume would be the primary audience given that it uses an English root word and English suffix).

I thought he means data/matic, dato/matic as a combo, not datao/matic

If it is a combo, it is a great name, imho. But, hey, what do I know. A user above claims that BB does favor to people by rejecting and letting them know they names were ugly in the first place )

Yeah, so I think that is probably the reason it got rejected then. As @Recons.Com stated, the other two options are much more preferable. This version is very difficult in English.

Hope this helps!

I'm new to domaining and after submitting 26 domains 4 were accepted, but IMO some of those that got rejected are good ones like: Lycho//com, Telery//com, Kishky//com, Vivinto//com, Surindo//com.

Do I have more chance for listing them with other marketplaces?

I like Telery.

Hey Houssaine,

Do I have more chance for listing them with other marketplaces?

According to Margot's (BB owner) Domain Sherpa Interview the average acceptance rate is 20%. So your 16% acceptance is quite good for a first timer. You can try submitting you names to another marketplace. Each one appears to have their own angle and customer base so you may get some accepted there. Another option is to list them (I suggest low $XXX BIN) on GD premium, Afternic, SEDO etc.

Hope that's helpful.

Yes of course. All eggs should not be kept in one basket.

I frequently come across domain names at ExpiredDomains.net with repeating letters like some of Keith's BB listing (diisplay, diversityy, inceptionn) but didn't bother to hand registered them thinking they were misspelling or mistyping names.

Do they sell? Why BB accept this kind of domains?

How about Chegg dot com ? Is that a miss spelling ;)

Yes there some great company behind this type of domains, like Amiigo dot com witch was sold by a fellow NPer.

I'm just wondering why someone would want to run a website on such domains!

What do you think from a brandable standpoint?
