@AGAME -

Great resource. Thanks!

From a quick glance and clicking on the "+ 20 more" button to the right, it appears the business model for 1&1 is a loss leader the 1st year and then they hit you with $14+ renewals. Correct?

How is their service? Has anyone used them to hand-reg the 1st year, then transfer their domains to a "main" account at another registrar prior to renewal?

Thanks for the summary chart AGAME. Insightful to see the registrar I'm using is 1/2 way down the chart on all 3 categories of New, Renew, Transfer.

-Jim

Dont know if 1&1 has changed in the past 10 years but 10 years ago I had a very bad experience trying to stop auto-renewal and then trying to transfer domains out of there. Very convoluted process with them. So I will never use them again. There is a Godaddy coupon thread on here, the latest post is here:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/godaddy-discount-codes.577802/page-800#post-4787511

In addition to Godaddy, I've used NameCheap and Name.com as well as IWantMyName.com - all very good experiences there. But I use GoDaddy for 99% of my registrations if I can.

@michaeljkrell What is your philosophy on logo-spend on BB? My thinking is that the logical thing is to dedicate more money to a logo when the domain is higher-priced.

Yeah, I tend to stick to $100 for anything under $3000. If something is like $6K plus I will do $300 or $400.

can we post our BB/BR-listed names on our own site (with link to the BB/BR sales page)?

Correct me someone if I'm wrong but I think what they're interested in is the *sale* to happen on their end.
So, I don't think sending them potential buyers is bad.

Interesting to read this thread so far. I tried out BB last year and I've submitted about 20 domains and had 3 approved after a long delay. One ended up selling quickly after a couple of months, however I've been disappointed in how the other two are listed in terms of quality control and the responsiveness of the site in general.

One domain "word 1" "word 2" style appears on the bottom of the fourth page when the word 1 is searched for. None of the other domains above it contain the query word. It's also generic enough to make sense for about 4 different categories. There's even a category filter that is literally "word 1" and the domain doesn't even show up in the category category filter specifically for it. With the category filter there's only 4 pages of results that it doesn't show up in and searching it there's 15 pages where my domain is randomly placed on the bottom of page 4 there.

For the second domain also "word" "word" the logo went through approved and live but has the last character cut off so it looks like a typo "word" "wor" in the logo text

As a result I decided to take down my domains

I am not sure how their search is implemented but when I search for "keyword", I will get a page of 52 results thereabouts and 30 of them do not have "keyword" in them. However on page 2 there are 27 more "keyword" domains. Maybe its me but since I searched for "keyword", I'd like to see every "keyword" domain they have at the top of the results.

My domains at BrandBucket are 'pending review' for 41 days now. These are first 7 domains I added to my account there.

I got word on one yesterday -- I submitted it 47 days prior, so you're probably almost there.

I think how the search engine on BB works is: select * from table where description like %k%e%y%w%o%r%d%
Order by approval date desc

I've sold 8 names at BB and all have been sold to the listed price

Thanks for sharing. What do you think was the average length of time you had them listed? And how many total have you had listed?

For my names, the average time before the sale has been 3-4 months.

I started out with a list of 8 names and sold 3 - After the sale I listed another 12 names and sold 3 more - in November and December I Listed further names for a total of 38 and I have since sold 2, so today I have 36 listed.

Hey guys,

I see a lot of .ly extensions in brandbucket. If I have a 7 letter brandable word that ends in ly, how important is it that I also own the .ly extension? is it worth the $75 registration fee -- or are there coupons?!

Aw man, I just missed the registration of Feesly.com I guess feedly.com is ranked under 200 globally. Am I on the wright track to thinking a name like Feesly.com has value in brandbucket or resale?

Feesly.com was registered 15 minutes before I tried to get to it yesterday.

For this I was talking about Bleeply.com (I submitted to brandbucket) and I was wondering if Bleep.ly would have been a better brandbucket submission? I'm determined to get one up there =)
