Would love to get a confirmation on that. It does read that way but how its implemented may be different. Should I sell a name 46 days after they send it out for logo-ing, I'd think they'd be po'd..

If you've sold a domain over a 46 day waiting period for a logo, I think the only people they can blame for their loss is themselves. I personally wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I agree 100%.

One of my domains was accepted. Nice 4-figure listing price suggested too. Paid the listing price and validated properly, now let's see if it sells!

Congrats!!! How long did the process take, start to finish and when did you begin the process?

Submitted it and ~20 others in the middle of November. Three of those left pending acceptance, the rest rejected.

Very nice! So no delay in the logo creation step?

I don't get the impression that baldonius' domain is live yet, just that it was accepted.

Hi All,

A quick update...

I checked my BrandBucket account tonight and 6 of 8 of my backlog logos were completed in the last 4 days.

I now am waiting on only 2 logos with the oldest having a wait period of 25 days ("accept" date of Dec 3rd). All my November "accepts" now have logos and are in the To-Be-Published Queue. A good feeling knowing my published inventory is expanding.

I forgot to mention... yes, all 6 were $100 selections.

Did others have a similar result this week?

-Jim

It isn't published yet, just approved. It is the Christmas/ New Year season after all. Happy to wait until January. Just as long as it gets sold eventually!

Don't get your hopes up too high. It seems many of you are obsession a bit (too much imo) about the submission, acceptance and listing process. From experience I can share it takes a large portfolio of quality names and then even a pinch of luck to regularly sell names on any of the 3 brandable sites. It is best to list them and forget about them so when one sells it's a nice surprise. Don't think about quitting your day job just yet ;)

Happy New Year everyone from Hong Kong :)

I guess that goes for any of the places that we list names....... good advice. Happy New Year 2015!

I agree.

And probably obsess most... as I work with numbers for a living and am asked daily by managers to benchmark/trend process metrics for decision making purposes. Point taken.

From my observations... those starting in a new venture (myself included with brandables) tend to focus on details to better understand what's "normal", successful, and provide themselves a sense of stability or direction as they pursue success. Sometimes blind faith, sometimes foolishness I must admit. Those with more experience (dv82) have confidence in the model and look at the bigger picture with more ease. A gift.

Quality being subjective based on personal taste, but more objective as you gain experience with having a longer history of sales / observations / market insight.

@dv82 - thanks for your post... curious, do you sell outside the 3 brandable sites? Or do you let the 3 sales channels handle the peddling while you focus exclusively on acquisition and building your portfolio? (appreciate your insights)

Also, if you don't mind sharing... what size portfolio do you carry?

Thanks,

-Jim

I do sell outside of the 3 major brandable sites. In fact, if I pick up a really great name (a name that I think will be offers for sooner or later) I often choose NOT to list it on any of the 3 because of the high commission percentage they take. The benefits of listing names with some brandable sites however is that they act as a broker and do a lot of the leg work when it comes to negotiating with buyers, escrow etc. You don't have to do anything really except for transferring the domain in case of a sale.

I think about 70% of my portfolio (450 domains) consists of what I consider to be brandable domain names. Most of them are listed on Vibrand.com which acts as my portfolio site.

@dv82 -

Thanks for the quick response and link to your portfolio site.

Fascinating read the "About" page and also quite interesting to glance through your easy to view (but quite diverse) portfolio "Domain" page.

I especially like the transparency you provide that "Some domain names listed on Vibrand are under exclusive brokerage with the following market places:" Clear & simple.

Appreciate the insight to your portfolio and approach.

I've been waiting over 6 weeks now for my names to be reviewed-it's ridiculous to have to waste so much time.
