I should have added "that will actually sell" to that phrase. Yes there are tons of multi-syllables words but you and I are not selling words we are selling made up names and made up names like I said are very hard to come up with that are short and do not end in a vowel. Yes you can add a t, c, n etc......to any name but chances of it selling are slim to none. Most made up names are 2 syllables and sometimes 3 syllables. If you have any name that is 4 or more syllables chances are it will be very hard to sell unless it's a name that makes sense like clickalicious.com. I don't like it that much but this is an example of a 4 syllable name that will probably sell at some point but these types are few and far between.
Here are some examples from BB that I chose from the featured section that if you add another letter the name becomes junk.

jabba > jabbat > jabbac > jabbax, sucks!
runu > runuc > runul > runub > sucks!
mori > moric > morib > moriv > sucks!
mori > moria > morio > add a vowel makes it much better

There are a few letters that work well with almost any scenario and that is S and X. You can add these to almost any combination and it works to a point but in the end it is all about creating names that sell and the majority if they are "short names" do end in a vowel. Not always but most..

30 days after submission to BrandBucket and no response yet. Very very slow. I wonder if I'll ever hear anything?

I had two accepted recently which took approximately 6 weeks and were then put online within about 48 hours of my paying the listing fee and forwarding the names to them.

Ralph.

LOL. A small house can be built in 8 weeks.
Most of a summer in some places. Time enough to walk 800+ miles...

If any of my submissions are rejected will they let me know or not?

Thanks

I submitted names to BrandBucket for the first time in January and it also took 8 weeks for them to respond to me. I had assumed all my names were rejected but they accepted two of them. We'll see what happens.

It takes around 60 days at the moment before submitted names are being reviewed. You will always receive a response. Even when the names you've submitted are declined.

BrandBucket has a great reputation and they do get results. I've sold a few names listed with them. But, they have become as slow as molasses in their response time (up to several months!). If they rest on their laurels a competitor of theirs could gain some market share. I think a nice compromise would be for BB to more quickly make a decision on names, even if it means they accept fewer overall or at least reject names faster that they know aren't going to make the cut. In the end, they do move names so it's still worth using them IMO. The people behind the scenes are great people and helpful as well.

A negative is that names get quickly buried on any of the brandable marketplaces, so it still takes time for the right end user to come along and find the hidden gem (your name) amongst all the others as they won't be seeing your name on the front page above the fold for long. The buyer either has to direct navigate to your domain listing or spend the time sifting through many names.

I think it's smart for a person to try all of the brandable maketplaces (the big 3 of BB, Namerific, and Brandroot) as the types of names they may have an eye for might do better at one venue over another.

Best of luck to everyone in selling their names!

For those that don't know how to read between the lines User Name "Northern Lights" who registered a few days ago April of 2014 is either Brandroot or working for Brandroot so take their comments with a grain of salt.

Thanks for sharing your insights. You're off base with your assumptions, but no biggie.

I have used all three brandable marketplaces and was sharing my views. In the future feel free to skip past or ignore my posts, but perhaps others besides yourself are interested in newcomer's info. I'm new to NamePros, but far from a newbie with regards to buying and selling brandable domains.

Later.

My first submissions to BrandBucket was on Jan. 16, and I received a response for it on Feb. 24.

Second submission to them was on Feb. 7. Still waiting for a response on that one and my subsequent submissions.

Seems like it's taking them a bit longer nowadays.

Received a response today on a submission from Feb 3rd so they're now running 10 weeks behind!

At the top left of the Brandbucket page is a symbol of three bars, click on it for the drop down menu which includes "Clients and testimonials"

I'm not a fan of the new layout. In addition to the fact that it looks cluttered, all the search tools are now hidden. I'm not sure why they thought this was an improvement.

It only shows several dozen of their past sales. I think they are the same ones on the old site. In the previous site the last dozen pages or so were all sold domains.

Don't know what to say about the redesign. I think the prejudice I have against it is the fact that I have used it before. If I was a new user, I might find this better. I also think it was vital that it be mobile and tablet friendly.

I've sold three domains there in last couple of weeks, so I was fine with the status quo :)
