I agree.
I completed my first sale on BB today. It was a much better ROI than my other private brand sales. The whole process was smooth and fast. Really pleased. It wasn't a huge sale I am happy with the result.

Great! How many Domains you listed at BrandBucket?..What is the selling price of that Domain?..If you Don"t mind can u mention sold Domain name?...

This is normal. You will see nothing until you receive an email from them notifying you that they've either accepted or rejected your submissions. Their turnaround time is usually about 4 weeks, but lately it's been as long as 6 weeks.

Yup, just about exactly that long. I just got a response this morning about a domain I had submitted on Jan 15th!

Yeah, turnaround does seem slower. But we're used to market places where the domains don't go through any review process. It takes time to do that, I'm sure.

Im waiting for the funds.. But one of my names they listed sold within a week and a half.. So the wait until they do accept and post still seems to be worth it despite the "eternity" it feels like lol sure as hell wasn't going to happen on Godaddy

It looks like they've changed their site so that you can no longer navigate through it without first giving them your email address. It seems to me like that would be a great way to drive away potential buyers. :(

Yes this was the case for me also, but after registering my email i seem to be able to navigate the site without that annoying popup,
Agreed this will be annoying and off putting for potential purchasers,
Really don't understand why ... unless they are trying to build their list?

Yea, that's a ridiculous pop up. I just enter a fake email though - then it disappears.

btw, if you list a name with them (after approval) and decide you no longer want to list it at a future date (let's say it's been 12+ mos and hasn't sold), can you pull it down?

If I use Internet Explorer, I don't get the pop up; but if I use Google Chrome then I do. You don't have to put an email address in to get rid of it. Just click the bottom button and you're welcomed to the site.

Regards

Ralph.

Yes, you can take it down anytime with 30 days notice.

I contacted them with a list of domains, some of which I had offers for, in order to gain more 'exposure'. They denied every one of them, even them ones that had some 55+ bidders when I purchased them at auction, and most with over $5k offers on the table.

Overall, they perpetrate themselves to be some kind of 'brandable' authority.

Here are the facts; any given domain can sell for over $5k+ on any day. It just depends on how 'in demand' it is. You want to find a brandable domain, ask yourself 'does it sound good' if yes then congratulations you are a brandable expert at the level of BrandBucket.

Similar experience here. I've made more money on domains they've rejected than on domains they've accepted. On the other hand, I don't think they necessarily reject domains based strictly on quality. I get the impression that they're trying to focus on a particular type of domain and that they reject domains that fall outside of their niche even if they're good domains.

I've reviewed the list of domains that have sold through brandbucket. Out of 848 domains, 518 end with vowels (including 'y' ). They break down as follows below.

Number of domains ending in:

a - 144
e - 75
i - 35
o - 167
u - 9
y - 88

The reason that most end in vowels is because they are short made up words. It is very hard to create a word from scratch that does not end in a vowel especially when it has to be short. You would pretty much have to create a single syllable name for it not to end in a vowel especially when its less than 7 letters. Most at BB that do end in a vowel are 7 letters or less because they are made up names. The vast majority of the names on BB that do not end in vowels are either compounds like fullalert.com, phrases like tonsoffunding.com, or affixed style words like brightsy.com. So basically every other style name from 4-7 letters ends in a vowel.

I'm not sure I agree. There are tons of multi-syllable words that start and end with consonants and I don't see why they'd be harder to make up. In fact, to illustrate how easy it is to invent them, just take some of the domains which have already sold and end in 'i' and add a 'c' or a 't' or an 'n', etc., and they still would sound like a single made up word, although probably less appealing. You can do the same with other vowel endings using different consonant additions. I think the preference for vowel endings has more to do with aesthetics than with how easy or hard they are to create.
