NOTE: The following only applies to what I consider to be excellent brand names - as a reference point I look at the names of startups that are in the news at CrunchBase. I do have several dozen listed at BB that I do not consider to be excellent, but I still hope.
I've sold 2 this month, so I guess I can give an idea of what can be achieved at BB:
These have sold since I started with BB mid-year, average time to sell is about 4 months, with half of my (excellent) domains still unsold.
Spoq
Alternis
Revato
Nibl
Orbex
Adza (paid to be featured)
Average sales price is high $xxxx. Listing price is typically 2-5x what I had unsuccessfully listed them for at Sedo. All were purchased at popular auction sites for low $xxx or less.
Each has an X-factor that helps it find a buyer, helps it stand out:
Spoq - Star Trek, short and funky
Alternis - Alt means alternative, something that does well online
Revato - Rev for revenue
Nibl - Nibble fits in with micropayments and bytes
Orbex - Orb is a globe - global
Adza - Ads are what fund a lot of the web
In general they are easy to spell, and have wide appeal. There would be thousands of ad services that would consider Adza to be a good fit.
