Nice, thanks for sharing. Did you contact them or vice versa?

Just received an initial $2.000 offer from a serious enduser (checked him out) who is planning a food website for my f.o.o.d.d.o (c0m). This name was rejected by both BB and Namerific.
Funnily another enduser also offered $400 recently for this name.

Just saying that its a lot about personal taste when we talk about brandable names and all decisions made by these sites are a combination of experience and personal taste of one person! no more, no less. Can be right, can be wrong. Its good to cooperate with these sites, i like them, but most importantly believe in your own abilities and taste.

The owner contacted me via my whois email from his personal email first and asked if the name is for sale. After my reply they replied with an email from their website which is an online brand creation type of site and they have several projects (not only food), i checked them and all were very nice and pro looking.

Since Frank Schilling owns Foodo.com and is probably asking $200,000 for it they probably see a great deal with your name even with the added "D"

haha, good info, thanks.
its strange though , i checked sedo and that name is also listed there, but no bids. maybe they offered something through domainnamesales and got a 'shocking' reply....who knows.

btw, i had the name listed for around 700 at ebay for a while.
lucky that i took it out ;)

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but one possible enhancement at BB would be to display the domains that have been rejected within your account. I see this feature at one of the other "brandable" sites, but if it's available at BB, I don't see it.
Also, I received an email from Margot the other day with her comments (much appreciated), but I don't know if this constitutes a rejection, or if one or more of these domains are still in review.

I thought the same thing. One thing is that if you try to submit a domain that has been submitted previously, an error message will show up.

This was all my fault, so never mind.

Apologies to BrandBucket.

This is indeed strange and a very long time!
For instance i had a name accepted 22. August.
Logo was designed and name up for sale on 03. September.
thats just 11 days.

Brandbucket needs to take care of the domains they have already accepted.

I submitted Kryse, Traineer, Zaput, and Keepeth on JULY 19, and still no logos.

Not acceptable.

I wrote the following email:

What a waste of time and money.

That is strange. Like Gifted Domains just posted above, I have had a domain submitted the first week of August and about 15-20 days later it was live.

Keep us updated about the reply to the email you sent. Maybe a designer is holding things up but. regardless, it seems strange that other names have been submitted, accepted and are live all after your names have been accepted.

@Ms Domainer

Each logo designer is placed in a category by talent. The categories are 1-5 with 1 being least experienced and 5 being most experienced. Those in the 1 category are only able to accept names that are in the $100 logo category. As the amount you choose goes up so does the amount of design talent. (based on Brand Bucket criteria) It is easy to assume that most domain owners choose the $100 category so their must be tons of names to choose from for the 1 category. Names are not chosen by the designers on a first come first serve basis but by what the designer feels like choosing. Obviously if they have lots of names to choose from in the 1 category they will cherry pick the best ones available on any given day. I have a few listed at Brand Bucket and have really analyzed the whole process from beginning to end. It is very simple if you want your names chosen quicker than raise the logo amount to $200 or $300 and then add that difference on top of the name. In less than 5 days you will see your name up. FYI I have not seen a difference in the quality of the logo from $100-$200 but I have seen the quality go up when going to the $300 option.

Mine are already at the $300 level.

It definitely should not take as long as it has. The longest time for me is 5 days. Double check your account page and make sure you clicked the "submit listing" button. After you edit the listing, choose logo price, and then click for the DNS you have to go back one more time and click submit listing. The only reason I say this is because one time I was waiting over a week for a name to go live and realized I forgot to do the last step and submit the listing.

Thanks, hookbox. You were right; I never clicked that button. I completed all the tasks but somehow missed clicking on those bright orange buttons

D'oh

I completed the process and then apologized to BB.

I must now remove some of my messages here on Namepros.

UPDATE: This was my fault. Somehow, I forgot to complete the process by pressing some prominent orange SUBMIT buttons.

Apologies to Brand Bucket; they have done nothing wrong.

Is there an "I-am-an-idiot" smilie?

:| :O

Glad you got that fixed Jennifer.

I interviewed Margot today and you can find the link in signature.

From the interview:

2) How did the idea for BrandBucket come about ?

Margot: By June of that year I had a collection of about 150 domains, so I put them up on a Wordpress blog that we called "the bucket" so that our team at Boxador could reference them during our brainstorming sessions. My husband -- always concerned about design and usability -- made logos for all of the names so that our list was nicer to look at than a bunch of words on a page. In the first month that our site was up, someone stumbled across it, asked about purchasing a name, and told us that it was a great collection to choose from. Then a second person came along, and a third. We realized we had something special, and it really struck a chord with entrepreneurs like us, so we decided to expand and improve it.

Did she explain why pictaz.com is a good, quality domain? Or rather, why she seriously thinks it is?

Glad you got that fixed Jennifer.
