What is your business area?We actually tried to relaunch to a .network as that was an exact match of the company name that ends In network.
Switched back to .net after a month as clients would be like this:
Client: what's your email?
Me: [email protected].
Client: is that .com or .nl?
Me: no, that's .network.
Client: yeah I got that but is it like, ending in .com or .nl
Me: forget about that, drop the mail to [email protected].
Client: great, added you to my contacts.
I personally like ngtlds but I'm a geek, a nerd and love pretty urls. The average end user or client doesn't recognize them (yet) and untill they do I would advise anyone who's not a major player in their field (or a hipster Startup with way too much funds to market a domain) against using a ngtld.
No reason to boycot the second grade (Read ngtld) version of .com/net/org/cctld though.
probably internet services seo marketing etcWhat is your business area?

I don't have new gtldsPointless thread. Sounds like he picked up some ngtlds and didn't check the renewals - now he wants to boycott them because he can't afford to renew.

I'll drink some liquor tonight for the fools who build businesses in sand castles. You know.....
For a pointless topic, this thread has sure taken off into a lively discussion.
I have a 5 letter exact domain match for a business and the business owns the five letters with .associates.
name.associates
They are trying to get my domain because the email [email protected] is failing miserably for them. It is failing even though the business is actually called
_ _ _ _ _ Associates.
So it's not only the renewal rates but email is playing a part in the difficulties these extensions are experiencing.

Can you please share the full domain name of that dot associates. You can pm me if you like but I don't see any harm to share it here so folks would have a better understanding of your example.
Also can you share what is the extension of the exact match domain.
They might be willing to buy your domain for brand protection, who knows?
My business e-mail is in a new gTLD and I am doing alright, no problem or whatsoever on customer side.
