Somebody took ~6000 llll.com over the weekend. I randomly sampled a few of the domains and they are registered thru different registrars. I will keep track and see whether the names are released back in the grace period.

Now the avaiable llll.com stands around 76K.

You know what, very smart move by whoever caught them all.

~6000 llll.com's, figuring the person got them at $4 since it is a bulk purchase, with coupons, he spent ~ 24K. Which is nothing, considering the fact that if 1 company wants their llll.com, he can easily take 24K just for one of them. Plus the fact the value will drastically increase a year from now.

Wish I knew about it sooner, would've probably tried to grab 3000 of them.

Well, you can grab 1 from me ( wefk.com ) for a paltry 100 bucks, that way you've only got 2,999 more to grab, hehe!

It's not surprising at all, to be honest. As cfguru360 said, just one sale can make up for so many regs and still have the rest of them left to sell...

Anyone with the capital to jump in and mass hoard a big portion of them is more than likely to make a killing. Saying that though, is there anything to prove that this was just one person?

Does that include LNNL, NLNL, LNLL etc or only LLLLs?

Wait, are many of these still available? I thought the thread starter said that someone registered them all.

76k +/- left, but the series is converging toward nil...the only question is "what is n?"

i wish i had the money to do that. Very good investment in my opinion. He must be following in the footsteps of the guy that regged every available 3 letter .info i think it was. :hehe: BTW, how did u find out he regged all of them?

Hi everyone,

I think I am going to do this. Can anybody find me the best way discounts/reg prices for registering bulk packages of 1000+ domains?

Also, anybody have a tool for finding all available LLLL.com's?

You can use my random scanner: www.shortywhite.com/scanner.php. Right now it randomly generates LLLL's and checks if they're available, if they are it prints them out...remember this means the same entry may appear twice.

If someone is nice enough to donate an LLLL list to me i'll be able to do it the "proper" way and check against the list...;)

Very nice tool! I added it into my bookmarks. :)

Now, what is the cheapest alternative to registering hundreds of domains?

Odds of being struck by lightning: 576,000 to 1
Odds of dying in a terrorist attack while visiting a foreign country: 1 in 650,000
Odds of dying in an airplane accident: 1 in 354,319
Odds of dying from choking on food: 1 in 370,035
Odds of selling a four letter .com for a huge profit 1 in 456,976

The only way to survive in this business is to increase your odds. I'd place my bet on the person who spent $36,000+ lost a nice chunk of change.

wow, quite a hot topic

when i posted this morning, i just want to share with you a nice story after the weekend. considtering there is quite a long list of available llll.com (76K), I don't think it is the right time to jump in now

the time that all llll.com will be gone, imho, will be around the end of next year, so plenty of time.

also thiis might be the big player, ie domaindoorman testing the traffic. as i saw quite a few name under their name.

best regards,

That's a very bad way of looking at it. 1 in 450k if you own 1 LLLL.com, what if you own 76,000 of them?

Your chances of selling that LLLL.com for a good profit are now 1 in 6. Plus, the value will increase a year from now, so there really aren't much worries.
