Somebody took ~6000 llll.com over the weekend. I randomly sampled a few of the domains and they are registered thru different registrars. I will keep track and see whether the names are released back in the grace period.

Now the avaiable llll.com stands around 76K.

If you own 76,000 you have to sell one for .5 million+ to make a profit. Or 208 a day at $8 a pop, 104 at $16 a pop, 52 a day at $32, etc etc Remember it's not a one time investment. That half a million comes around yearly.

ok, here are some details

for a typical day about 200 llll.com is registered.
on 28th, the number is >6000.
out of the 6000, domaindoorman registered about 5300
they just randomly registered the domains
it is not clear whether they will keep rolling this many llll.com names or dump it out completely.

again, i think it will take time for llll.com to run out

You can use my random scanner: www.shortywhite.com/scanner.php. Right now it randomly generates LLLL's and checks if they're available, if they are it prints them out...remember this means the same entry may appear twice.

If someone is nice enough to donate an LLLL list to me i'll be able to do it the "proper" way and check against the list...;)

Shorty, PM me with your email and I will send you a list of LLLL's. I'll filter against a .com zone file to shorten the list but the one I have is pretty out-of-date (e.g. Jan '06).

Does anybody have a more current zone file they can furnish?

Cheers,
BidNo

it is very difficult to provide a list
as there are more than 5k llll.com are being regged/tested/dumped regularly. so 1 in 10 might be just tested by somebody without being regged

LLLL list furnished to shorty.

I'd still be interested in a more current zone file if anybody has one to share?

Cheers,

For testing 4 letter .com's, use DNA.
Just for fun I attached all avail 4 letters that start with "E" ;)

it was in dnjournal i think. ive seen it posted around the forum a few times so ill try and dig it out. i think he did it with .biz's aswell

good luck man. I think it would be a good investment since ur practically guaranteed to get a min of $30 for a nice pronouncable name or more

the problem is the ones left are not pronouncable:) at least 90% of them

are there any NNNN.com available?

NNNN.com domains are worth $XXX+. They have been gone for a while.

They are there if you look hard enough. I think that there are around 5000. I bought 74 on Monday that I consider pronouncable including ffuz.com, beqc.com, iduq.com and pwuz.com. It's not as easy as it used to be but it is still possible. (I'm planning on listing 100 unregistered brandable domains on my site LT96.com later this week.)

I think that the next thing to happen is for people to start registering names because they start with letters a,b,c,d,e,s and t. The other thing is for domains with repeated premium letters to become more attractive. (A domain with 2 letters the same that are premium and one other premium letter has a higher probability of being used as an acronym than the average unregistered 4 letter domain.)

My weekly monitoring list on the number of 4 letter domains remaining has shown a decrease in the number for 5 consecutive weeks. This is the first time that this has ever happenned. I think that we have reached the point that it is quite safe to say that they will be taken in 12 months.

I don't there are any pronouncable NNNN.coms left. I could be wrong but...

SERIOUSLY folks. ;)

I've heard over and over (even in this thread) that what makes LLLL.coms a good investment is the application to Acronyms. Sure, some pronouncables might have inherant type-in traffic but as is pointed out, they are virtually extinct... so WHY were these 6000 names just bought up?

It must be the future use of Acronyms. If Pronouncable 4-letter names are a thing of the past or at least a complete needle in a haystack for the present, shouldn't we now be focused on the LLLL.coms that actually HAVE a future?

When those are gone, the useful acronyms, then we are left with the random jumbles of 4 letters that little or no value.

How many pronouncables were there with 3-letter .coms? Did it matter when they all disappeared?

Whoa i'm glad you guys and gals like my tool. :)

Through the course of the day I had 9 offers to buy it yesterday, i'm thinking that's good. I've been working on a commercial, customisable version and it might be available within the week, we'll see.

According to my stats, scanner.php has been a viewed a total of 421 times...since about yesterday because I moved hosts. ;) And it's chewed through a fair bit of bandwidth considering it's basically just queries text...that's a lot of requests, hehe.

Yeah I did BidNo, thanks a lot!

However there's a couple of kinks in my list scanner and for some reason it's not working so well with the LLLL list. So it looks like the LLLL seekers are going to have to continue to using the randomiser, like the cavemen did in the dark ages! Ha. :)

I'm really sorry, and i'll get it sorted as soon as I can.
