It was a cool night in San Francisco. I happened to be in town with my girlfriend visiting a friend of ours. I saw history take place. I wanted to catch the ball, but, it wasn't hit to McCovey Cove.

Marc Ecko, entrepreneur, bought the ball to use as part of a promotion. I love the marketing behind this promotion.

Vote what you think should happen to the ball.

Vote "B" :tu:

Just a note. I wanted to go to the game to see the homerun and jeer. I booed when Bonds hit the homerun.

Vote how you wish ;)

But I would make sure that Barry was present when the branding went on, so he could see it in person.

Has it been proven Barry used illegal substances?
If so, why is he still playing?

just wondering....

btw, I have heard all the accusations, read the stories... and saw how he "grew" over the years, so speculation is not what I'm asking for. proof...

He has never tested positive for steroids. And the accusations about him are for years where steroids weren't even banned from baseball.

I'm voting "A". Like him or not, it is a remarkable accomplishment.

If tomorrow it was proven that he used steroids for the majority of his career would you still view it the same way?

Not at all a fan... he plays for the Giants, I bleed Dodger Blue.
But I admired his father, and I admire him for their accomplishments and contributions to the game.
Even if the are/were :( Giants.

And, muscles dont make HR's, it's all about the eye and the swing, and Barry has both.

I'm not in denial. It's very likely he used steroids between 1999 and 2005. Cyberian was asking about proof, and I don't think there is any conclusive evidence aside from photos and rumors.

The record remains an amazing feat. If you start putting asterisks on everything, you might as well do it for Babe Ruth too. He played in an era that didn't allow black people in the major leagues. I'd say that gave him an unfair advantage over the majority of his career.

I don't know if he has used steroids, But his swing is what makes him the home run hitter he is,Imo, An awesome accomplishment, I would send the ball to coopers town, just as it is.

And that right there is the gospel truth. I would say he (Ruth) is a bit overrated but I'm 90% certain he didn't unknowingly use clear & cream.

I think we would have broke Hank Aaron's record with or without steroids because he is certainly a gifted baseball player.

Voted B, at least the ball is in control of someone who people can trust. He will do the right thing with it.
